It was late at night, and Rami was sleeping peacefully. Reid on the other hand, was not sleeping very well. In fact, he wasn't sleeping at all. Instead, he was sitting at his computer. He had Crimson teach him the ways of the dark web.
Trying to put these skills to good use, he's been up for hours searching and scouring the deep web. Now, he wasn't doing this for no reason. He had a plan. Rami may be home safe, and everything is going well. He still felt ... as if something was missing.
He wasn't able to have complete closure over the events surrounding his friend's disappearance, so he decides to seek that closure himself. Using the deep web, he returns to the site where him and Crimson discovered the article that leaked the project to the public.
He looks carefully. Paying attention to every word, every link. Until eventually he comes across a small comment at the bottom of the page. The comment read:
Looking for information you can't seem to find? Hit me up at this email.
And it gives an actual email address to contact whoever created this page. This could be the jackpot. How lucky is it that he was able to notice this? He took the email address, and typed it into the search bar.
Doing that, he was able to find an account that belongs to the email. He decides to stalk this account a bit, and with a little digging, he was eventually able to find a telephone number. This just keeps getting better and better.
Going back into the dark web, he found a site for number searches. He plugged in the phone number and after a few seconds, he was given everything he needs to know. He has an address, and Rami was still asleep. It was 3 in the morning currently, and he wasn't about to let this opportunity pass him up.
He quietly gets dressed, and heads out to his truck. Using the GPS, he started driving, making sure to keep his bat with him, because he knows he will need it.
After almost an hour of driving, he pulls up to this well-kept home just outside of town. There were other houses nearby, so he had to make sure nobody would be alerted to his presence. He shut the lights off on his truck, and pulled into the driveway. He gets out, bat in hand, and closes the door behind him.
He notices a sign up front that shows a security system is active in the house. He reaches into on of the hiding spots in his truck, and pulls out a balaclava. Finally putting it on after some trouble around his antlers, he searches around the outside of the house. Imagine his excitement when he notices the electrical box is on the outside.
He walks over, opens the box, and shuts off the power to the house. With no power, there's no security. He makes is way to the front door and crouches off to the side. Now to wait.
It only took a couple minutes before the door comes open. Out walks a large figure. He appears to be a dragon. He was tall, and muscular, with scales made of gold. Shoulders so wide he appeared to have three heads.
This will be a challenge, but Reid knew he had the advantage with his element of surprise. Without missing a beat, he launched himself at the dragon and placed his bat under the chin, pulling back with force to try and cut off his breathing passages.
The dragon was smarter than Reid anticipated, and backed up quickly, sending Reid crashing into the wall. He turned toward the deer and grabbed him by the throat.
"Who the fuck are you?!" he yelled.
Reid struggled to breathe. "None .... of your ... business!" he managed to say before using the bat and thrusting it into his opponent's stomach.
This caused the dragon to let go momentarily, but it was enough time for Reid to put his quickness to the test and sweep the hulking figure off his feet, landing directly on his back. Reid threw a punch to each side of his head.
"YOU! You were the one to almost get my friend killed!"
The dragon was woozy, but coherent. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"The website! You leaked the cancer research project to the public! You piece of SHIT!"
Reid took his bat and swung downward, but only being caught by the large paw of the dragon. He used his legs to throw Reid off of him. He stands up and charges at the deer. The two throw punches at each other. Reid was able to dodge a lot of them with his speed, but one punch caught him in the chin, knocking him off-balance.
The dragon followed up with two slashes with his talons at the deer's chest. He cut through the leather jacket and brought some blood, but did not cut too deep into the flesh. Reid howled in pain, but was able to ignore it enough to swing the bat into one of the Dragon's hands.
He grabbed his hand that was now surely broken and Reid saw this opening to swing once more, this time aiming for the knees. He cracks the bat into the dragon's knees, causing him to topple over.
"If I see that site still online at the end of the day, I will be back. You know I can find you. This time, I'll bring something lethal, and you will not live another day."
Holding the bat in the air one more time, he swings it like a golf club, striking the side of the dragon's head, knocking him out cold.
Reid stands for a moment, looking at the large heap on the ground. Satisfied with his work, he walked back to his truck. As he sat down, he heard a notification on his phone. It was from Rami. He opened the phone to read the message.
Hey, where'd you go? You ok?
He responded: I'm just out for a walk. I'll be home in a little bit, and I'll bring home breakfast.
