...I, however, was scared half to death. When I left school, I immediately knew where I was going. Today was the day of my dads birthday, and if I didn't see him, it would internally kill me. So, after I left school, I went straight to Swellview prison, to see whom I called my biological father. I sat in the cool metal chair, rocking back-n-forth nervously. Every time I came to see my dad, he normally would cause a huge scene, and have to be put back in his cell. This time, I was hoping for a change, though I had a feeling it wouldn't.
A tall man sat on the other side of the glass, and picked up the wall mounted phone. I sighed, and did the same.
"Hey, dad," I softly smiled.
His face stayed blank, "What do you want?"
I gulped. My heart felt like it was twisting slowing into a tight circle.
"I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday, and I wanted to talk to you,"
His eyebrows furrowed, "Well, you know what, my birthday isn't happy, and it won't for a while. You know why? Because you and that dumb man, put me in here,"
I blinked, "Ray isn't dumb. Don't blame him because you did something wrong,"
My dad barred his teeth, "I didn't do crap wrong,"
I stared dumbly at him.
His voice slowly began to raise, "You and Ray, made a huge mistake, and when I get out of here," his voice carried throughout the room as he started shouting, "I'll make sure you, him, and you're new sidekick never see the light of day again, mark my words, you little-"
"Enough!" A guard interrupted.
Tears pricked my eyes.
"Let's get back to your cell now,"
My dad slammed the phone to the machine and stood up, snarling down at me.
"I think it's time to go, miss," the guard nodded down at me.
I put my phone back on the machine, stood up, and walked outside, catching the fresh air into my lungs. A tear slid down my face at the interaction, though, I saw it coming.
The elevator to the Man Cave dinged open, revealing the one and only Schwoz.
Schwoz lugged out a big canvas bag, "Hey, here's another sack,"
"No way," Charlotte said, sifting through the envelopes, "More fan mail?"
"Yeah," Schwoz beamed, "Captain Man, Danger Girl, and Kid Danger are very poopular in this town,"
I look up at Ray as he passes by me on the couch.
"Schwoz," Ray groans, "I found another one of your diseased eggs in my tanning bed," Ray held up a brown egg.
I looked up and looked at the egg before furrowing my eyebrows, "Oh, there was one of those in my shoe,"
Schwoz gave me a weird look before turning back to Ray, "He's not diseased, yet,"
"Uh, what are you guys talking about?" Charlotte questioned.
I sighed and shook my head, "Schwoz gets his jollies by blasting eggs with all kinds of weird radiation so he can see what happens when they hatch,"
"It's fun to create mutants," Schwoz shrugged.
"Yeah," Ray scoffed, "Must have been real fun for you mom, ooh,"
I hissed at the remark, knowing it burnt into Schowz's brain.
