"They've been out shopping for hours." Sara complained to Ava as she twirled a knife in her hands. All Sara really wanted was for Clarity to come back home already. Clarity and Zari 2.0 having decided to have quite the girls day out today and hit up some futuristic mall together. Not that Sara could blame her sweet Pachirisu for wanting to have fun with her friend, she just wished that fun was with her instead.

"Well, you know them." Ava replied as she worked on making a scrap book full of kitten photos for Zari 2.0. Ava hoped her girlfriend was going to like it. At the very least if she didn't it would give her cat chat followers some cats to actually chat about. "They're probably just warring with each other over whether or not they should spend more time in the candy or the lingerie store looking for a present for us."

"Why would they be looking for a present?" Sara wondered, with all the captaining she'd been doing the days had started blurring together. She really had no concept of time anymore. She didn't even know what day of the week it was. Maybe Tuesday.

"Because it's Valentine's Day." Ava replied looking up from her binder. "Sara, don't tell me you forgot."

"What? Pssh, I didn't forget." Sara waved a hand tucking her knife back into her jeans. "I just...thought it wasn't today yet."

"Ugh, Sara." Ava groaned snapping her binder closed setting the glue stick she was using down.

"We're on a time ship and no one ever marks off the date on the calendar since Ray left!" Sara replied defensively. "I thought it was next week!"

"Okay, okay calm down." Ava capped her glue stick. Screwing the cap onto the pink glitter. "We'll figure this out."

"What's there to figure out? It's Valentine's Day and I don't have a present for my girlfriend!" Sara replied.

"Sure you do, just show her a good time in the bedroom. Once upon a time I would've loved that gift back when we were together." Ava told her.

"Sex isn't a present. I'm not letting her think she only deserves to get touched because it's a special occasion. What are you crazy?" Sara snapped in reply. Running a hand through her blonde hair. This wasn't good. Hell this was a disaster. Clarity's going to think she doesn't appreciate her. That she didn't deserve a gift, if she tells her she forgot she might even wonder if she loves her. Sara had to fix this, she had to come up with a present and fast before Clarity and Zari 2.0 got back.

"Okay, okay bad idea. I don't know you could fabricate her a dress. She likes dresses." Ava suggested.

"Clarity can fabricate her own clothes whenever she wants." Sara shook her head at the idea. "That's not good enough."

"You could get her a Palmer tech watch?" Ava tried.

"You think I have the money for that?" Sara glared in reply.

"I'm sure Ray could get you a deal or get it for you for free. Pull a few strings." Ava shrugged.

"It's too fancy, and I probably wouldn't even get her the right one. She's the one who knows more about all that techy stuff than I do. Yeah I learned a little on the island but everything's all advanced nowadays." Sara sighed. "She'd probably short it out anyways and I don't want to set her up to feel bad."

"Chocolate covered strawberries?" Ava suggested.

"I always make her those that's not going to work." Sara replied. "Damnit we have to think of something before they get back."

"Before who gets back?" Zari 2.0 asked walking onto the ship heels clicking against the metal ramp. Shopping bags galore were dangling from her arms. Beside her Clarity was looking about the same. Except under Clarity's right arm was a neatly wrapped present. White and black striped paper topped with a yellow bow.

"Uh, the boys,. They're still not back." Ava covered for Sara.

"Oh, well I'm sure they're fine. Behrad's just spending time with his boyfriend. Nate can be quite the demanding partner during the holiday's." Zari 2.0 smiled, "but so can I. Meet me in my room in five minutes. I'll give you you're present."

"I'm-I'm not done with yours yet." Ava replied looking a little flustered. "I still need to add the glitter."

"There's better places for this to go." Zari smiled grabbing the little bottle of glitter tucking it into her shirt. "Five minutes..." she tapped lightly under Ava's chin strutting off down the hall.

"Oh sweet god..." Ava breathed, scooping up her scrap book following after leaving Clarity and Sara alone in the cargobay.

"So...you and Zari had fun?" Sara asked slowly unable to take eyes off that present. She was a terrible girlfriend. She didn't deserve Clarity. How could she not have gotten this woman a present?

"Mhm. We had a blast." Clarity replied as she set her shopping bags down, "We got chocolate covered strawberries, we went dress shopping, I got tons of fabric to make my new designs... and this is for you my love." Clarity turned to face her with a bright smile. Holding the gift out to her in excitement. "I hope you like them."

Sara opened the box and she was met with the most gorgeous set of throwing knives. The blades were blue, glittering in the light. The handles a nice black material jewels embedded around the sharp edge. Sara picked one up testing the balance and of course it was perfect.

"Click the big jewel." Clarity pointed to the largest gem. Sara followed the instruction and her eyes widened when lightning crackled all over the knife. She clicked the button again and it shut off. "I know you typically like your knives to be all black and silver, but I thought these would remind you of me. Do you like them? It's okay if you don't. I can take them right back. They're a bit girly. You like things a little sleeker than-"

"Don't you dare." Sara replied tugging the box just a bit closer to herself as she smiled, "I love these cute little Clarity knives. They're perfect sweetheart thank you." Sara leaned towards her to give her a kiss which Clarity happily returned.

"I'm so glad you like them." Clarity smiled overjoyed that her girlfriend liked her gift.

"I really do." Sara looked down at the knives before she put the lid back on the box and set it down sighing softly to herself. Of course Clarity'd found the perfect present, and she didn't have anything to give her back. Great job Sara.

"Clarity I-" Sara sighed taking the Glitch's hands as she turned to face her. Her gaze was so curious and expectant, it hurt to have disappoint her like this. "I'm sorry, Pachirisu. I don't have a gift for you..."

"Oh." Clarity replied with a little blink smile faltering for just a second. "Well, that's okay..."

"No it's not." Sara protested, "You deserve a present more than anyone in the multiverse. I screwed up, I'm so sorry..."

"Hey." Clarity giggled, lightly cupping Sara's cheek. "I don't need a present to know you love me, Sara. You're here, we're together that's what matters. Now Cmon you can feed me my strawberries."

"Feed you strawberries? That's all you want me to do?" Sara asked wrapping her arms around Claritys waist.

"Hm. Maybe some other things too." Clarity's eyes glowed lightly.

"That can be arranged." Sara smiled.
