12 years later
With the passage of time comes the transformation of the person. It was something you had learned long ago.
With every passing minute, you mature, you grow, you learn. You are constantly changing, constantly evolving, and constantly becoming who you were meant to be. The passage of time could be scary, intimidating, and even upsetting. As youth leaves the body, you can feel the years wither away and it makes you wonder if you had done enough in that time.
When you were a child, you remembered hearing your mother talk about how she wished she could go back to the good old days. As a kid, you didn't know what that meant. You were happy so you figured she was happy. That wasn't the case. Your mother had lived in a dream world of reverting back to her teenage years, the years stolen from her. It was no wonder she fled when she had the chance. That was her opportunity to go back to the way things used to be. You learned how to forgive her and sometimes, you even prayed for her. You hoped she was living a good life.
Your mother had been afraid of the passage of time. She was one of the people who felt that once a minute passed, it was a minute wasted. You were thankful that you didn't think the same way she did. Instead, you looked at each passing moment as a learning experience and a fond memory. Perhaps it was the peacefulness that had grown inside of you, the contentedness that had nestled within you, and happiness you felt more and more every day that helped you look at life with a bit more optimism.
Because even as time passed, you were happy. You were the happiest you had ever been.
After all, with a lover like Loki, how could you not be happy?
Your eyes were closed as you felt the rays of the sun hitting your face through the skylight of your temple. The realms were at peace today. You could feel it inside of you, a calmness that brought you comfort. Your lips curled into a smile as you basked in the feeling of the realms' trust.
It had been twelve years since you became the Goddess of Trust and much had happened in that time. Shortly after your transformation, you got to work on repairing the loss of loyalty and unity amongst the people of the realms. Your existence held the very fabric of trust and that trust needed to be mended. You worked tirelessly day and night to repair the concept of trust. It took a long time, but things were finally the way they should be.
The process started with you having to look into the hearts of the people and learn why they could not feel, or did not feel, trust. Most of the time, it was rooted in betrayal. The anger that these people held onto because of such betrayal caused them to be bitter and untrusting. You worked to teach them how to be kinder and learn to forgive. It was then that you realized not only were you the Goddess of Trust and Loyalty, but you were also governing another branch - forgiveness.
It was not an easy journey to get to the point you were at today. You struggled greatly with this mantle. It was hard work and sometimes, there wasn't an answer to your problems. You had to go through trial and error to learn how to completely blossom into this goddess. Luckily, you were never alone through it. You had your friends and your family to help you along the way. It was thanks to them that you were able to soar to the heights you had reached. Now, the only way to go was up.
"Little goddess..."
You opened your eyes and smiled when you heard that voice in your head - Loki.
"Hello, Master." Your connection with Loki had only strengthened over the years. Now, you didn't even need to be in prayer to hear each other in your heads. One of Loki's powers he had developed was telepathy. Now, you two could speak to each other mentally even if you were planets apart. Thankfully, you never were.
