(tw: ig cursing??)

The sun was beaming through one of the windows of the house, just barely lighting up Hironaka's face. She groaned and sat up, rubbing her eyes. She looked over to her side and noticed Mitsuri curled up, asleep. Oh, right, Mitsuri was there. She stood up and stretched, cracking her knuckles and adjusting the mask on her face. She didn't take it off last night, huh. She sighed and headed out into her kitchen, looking around. It seemed to have stopped raining, thank god. She huffed and headed to the stove, starting the fire and searching through the cabinets. Cooking up some breakfast for the two of them, she used some of the stored water from yesterday to make them both some tea. Afterwards, she carefully walked to their thankfulky now dried uniforms. Phew, perfect. Her eyes drifted back over to Mitsuri, who slept soundly on the bed. It sorta made her smile. Shaking her head, she walked over to the bed and shook Mitsuri.
"Hey, cmon, I made breakfast." "Huh,? Oh, its morning.."
Hironaka laughed, and quickly lead Mitsuri to the kitchen where they had shared their breakfast and such. There wasnt much conversation, just discussing plans for the day. Mitsuri would return home and go on any necessary missions, Hironaka would clean up and do the same. Hironaka finished first and hopped to her feet, yawning.
"Better get dressed now." "You go first!"

"Bye Suzuki!" "See ya."
Hironaka waved off Mitsuri from the porch, watching her jump across the stream and to the path nearby. She sighed. Heading in, she questioned herself. Why did she get along so well? She was a demon! She wasnt complaining it was just odd that Mitsuri tolerated her. She huffed and walked back into the cabin, putting away everything that she needed to. It was nice living alone but, it felt so much nicer with Mitsuri.. she huffed, gripped the bandage that covered her chest. She unraveled it, staring down at herself and the huge scar on her stomach. That demon on the train got her real good... She sighed, tracing her hand over the cut as she sat down. Hironaka closed her eyes tight, remember how horrible that fight was. She didnt even hear it coming...
"Hironaka, I forgot someth-"
They both froze. Mitsuri.
Hironaka basically screeched, desperately covering up her chest as Mitsuri fumbled around with her eyes closed, apologizing like hell. After Hironaka gave Mitsuri her sword, what she forgot, she ran out the door. She huffed and closed the door behind Kanroji. That was... awkward. She had a lot of scars on her body, but, that one bothered her just a bit more. About how she couldnt even fight a demon, let alone save Rengoku... whatever, its no big deal. She tossed on her uniform and kimono, adjusting it thoroughly. Once she was happy, she simply sat on her bed. She knew she'd get a mission tonight, so she might as well just wait it out.

It'd been a few months since the two met, since then, there wasnt too much change. Sadly, Tengen (A/N: ive altered some characters deaths and shit for this au thing.) had perished fighting an upper demon. Sadly, thats how the world can be. And it sucks. Hironaka stared outside, standing on her porch. Mitsuri should've been there by then... was she okay? Did a demon get her? they were pretty high up in the mountains and it was getting late, what if she got hurt? Suddenly, she heard footsteps and a very familiar voice.
"Sorry im late!" "You had me worried."
Hironaka quickly let Mitsuri in, lighting a candle out on the porch and closing the door. Mitsuri huffed, before turning around and smiling at Hironaka. "So sorry about that! I was finishing up a mission and I was getting you a gift." "A what?" Only then did Suzuki notice the flowers in the other girls hand, and her face flushed red.
"Youre too kind." "Nonsense!"
She took the flowers and set them into a clay vase, pouring in some water and setting it on the windowsill. Hironaka was already out of her uniform, back in that bandage wrap around her chest. Mitsuri had brought her own clothing this time, thankfully, and hurried to go get changed. Immediately Hironaka burried her face into her hands. She'd developed a sort of 'crush', to say. She really cared about Mitsuri, a lot. To the point she never wanted to be separated. Trying to get her mind off it, she took some crackers from the cabinet and started snacking on them while reading some old ass book she had. Maybe that would work? No. She groaned quietly and shook her head. She was hopeless.

"Hironaka, im done!"
Mitsuri's voice threw Suzuki out of her thoughts and all her attention was set on her. Shit. She put away the book and hurried to the cabinets, putting the rest of the crackers away. She then turned towards the other girl, who smiled. "Cmon! Its late, lets lay down." Kanroji suggested, to which Hironaka agreed. Both of them got to the bed, on opposite sides respectively. Mitsuri must have been tired because she fell asleep instantly. Hironaka, however, couldnt stop thinking. All she could think about was the girl beside her. Her mind whirled for a few minutes before she had enough. She turned to her side, facing Mitsuri. She carefully undid her bandages, just revealing the scar. Taking Kanrojis hand softly, she ran it over the scar, shivering intensely at the foreign feeling. Her hands were so soft. It seemed to calm her mind a bit luckily, but still, her touch was rather... intoxicating. She hadnt had physical contact in ages and fucking hell was it wonderful. She didnt move Mitsuri's hand, just kept it on the scar until her brain calmed. But it probably worked a little too well, because soon she was craving a bit more. Of course, she wouldnt take that, Hironaka wanted Mitsuri to give it to her. She almost hit herself, was she on something??? What the hell was she thinking? She stared at Kanroji's hand, then up to her face. Everything about her drove her INSANE. Hironaka finally placed Mitsuri's hand down gently, and retied her bandages. But.. she couldn't stop herself from just taking Kanrojis hand. Yeah, that was fine, oh how the contact was warmly welcomed. She interlocked their fingers and sighed, squeezing the others hand.

It was the middle of the night when Hironaka was awoken by cold, soft hands on her back. Her eyes shot open to see Kanroji, staring intently at the bandages.
"....eh???" "Oh! Sorry, your thingie came untied."
It was apparent how hard Hironaka was blushing apparently, because Mitsuri backed away quickly. "I woke up and it was all undone and so I decided to fix it! Though I probably didnt tie it too well.." She pouted a bit, barely visible in the dark. Hironaka just nodded and balled her hands into fists. Now she couldnt sleep with Mitsuris ha-
"Hironaka? Are you okay?"
Her fingers wrapped around her closed fist, gently massaging into the knuckles until her hand un-balled itself and she slipped her fingers through the others, locking them. Suzuki glanced away but she wasnt complaining. She was just getting closer to Kanroji.
Just like she wanted to from the start.
