Chapter 4 - Only one

It was a lovely day like any other day. Yashiro woke up listening to the birds chirping in the morning. She stretched her arms and went to took a bath. Today, she isn't as busy as usual. She can finally relax after her days of working and going to meetings.

"Ah, how lovely it is to relax and take a break." said Yashiro relaxing in her tub. Although she doesn't have a busy schedule today, visiting the twins, a.k.a her two fiances was tiring enough. It was hectic listening to their quarrels fighting who got her attention the most.

She sighed as she thought of them grabbing both of her hands and fought. Yashiro always had thought that the twins will be more mature than she expected. I mean both of them had always acted mature in public and she had never heard anything bad about them. Even with other girls.

She sighed again and took her towel. Drying her hair and putting on a simple yet elegant dress. "Hmm..Since I'm not busy, maybe I should visit Aoi." She went out of her room and went to the table, waiting for her breakfast. After a few minutes of waiting, her food had finally arrived. She ate it slowly whilst thinking about what should she do for the whole day.

The only people in the palace is the chef, her maid and her guards. The other maids were let off taking a vacation. But only Yashiro's maid insisted to not take a vacation. But feeling unwell today, she took a break. After finishing eating, she went outside and rode a carriage along with her guard to Aoi's place.

At Aoi's place

"Nene! How are you!" said Aoi cheerfully with open arms towards Yashiro. "I'm good! How about you?" said Yashiro cheerfully. After greeting with each other, both of them went to the garden for their tea.

"Wow Aoi! The garden looks more beautiful than the last time I saw it." Aoi was flustered but pleased with the compliment. "Yeah, the maids and I worked hard to make the garden more beautiful. I heard that a handsome duke will come and visit here!" Aoi squeal imagining the handsome duke that will arrive to the palace.

"A handsome duke huh..?" Yashiro began to imagine the "handsome" duke that Aoi seem to make a fuss about. "Nene! Are you imagining the duke that I mentioned earlier?" said Aoi looking at her space out friend. "H-huh?! Well.." As Yashiro tried to explain, she can't help but feel embarrassed about it.

Aoi laughed softly at her embarrassed friend. "Nene, it's fine to imagine what he looks like but remember to stay loyal to both of your fiances!" Hearing that made Yashiro more embarrassed but also glad. "Speaking of your fiances, shouldn't you be meeting with them? Your father gave you a lot of time to know them."

Yashiro sighed of the thought of her meeting them again after knowing how clingy they are. But she should be grateful that her father gave her a lot of time to know them rather than quickly marrying with them.

"Well then, I should be going to meet them. Thank you Aoi for the tea!" Said Yashiro cheerfully. "Ah no problem Nene! Please visit soon!"

Yashiro rushed to her carriage and told her (person who drove it) to head to the twins castle.

Twins castle

"I hope this day will go on fastly. I don't want to stay here very long. People here scare me." Yashiro may be a princess and met many people but she'll still feel quite intimidated by people she meet. Alone with her thoughts, a voice was heard from the halls of the castle.

"Uh your highness Tsukasa? Are you there?" The halls went silent. "Your highness Amane?"..... Still no sound to be heard. "I probably heard it wrong. I'm sure the twins would answer if I called their names." Yashiro proceeded to walk to the halls to find the twins. "I should probably ask a maid or a guard if they know where they are."

Yashiro walked in the halls to find a maid or a guard but none was to be found. "That's oddly weird. How come there isn't a single maid or guard around here?" Yashiro walked again to find one until she stumbled across an opened room. She could smell tea and biscuits coming from that room. She then heard voices inside the room. Yashiro took a peek to see what they were chatting about.

She saw her father and her mother along with his majesty (The twins father). "When my twins first laid eyes on your daughter, they fell in love. However, I wouldn't really advise polygamy among my twins with your daughter. I wanted to have a chat about you having your daughter pick one of my twins for marriage."

"Must she choose only one? What if she wanted both of them?" His majesty cleared his throat. "Well there  isn't any polygamy relationship yet and I don't want the people of my land nor the other royals judge me for such an impure relationship. To them, a wife must only stay loyal to one and only one king. I cannot let my reputation be tainted by such."

"I've think I heard too much. I shouldn't have snooped around at the first place!" Yashiro quickly left the room and went outside. "It isn't bad news but why do I feel sick in the stomach? Must be all of those politics. I should go home and rest."

As Yashiro went inside the carriage, a familiar voice was heard. "Your highness Yashiro! You came to visit!" It was Tsukasa. Gosh darn it Yashiro has been spotted by Tsukasa. "Your highness Tsukasa! I was just about to leave." Tsukasa pulled out his hand. "I'm very happy you decided to visit here! C'mon, we can go and have some tea at the garden!"

"I think I'm going to throw up.." Thought Yashiro. It'll be rude not to accept Prince Tsukasa's invitation but Yashiro felt quite sick after listening at her father's conversation with his majesty. "Uh I'm sorry for the rudeness your highness but where is the bathroom?" Yashiro covered her mouth to avoid vomiting in front of Tsukasa.

"Ah do you feel sick? I can bring you there." Tsukasa pulled Yashiro's hand to the bathroom. Yashiro smiled and quickly shut the door to vomit. "Maybe I shouldn't have ate too much of those biscuits Aoi brought." Yashiro cleaned up and open the door and saw Amane alongside with Tsukasa. "Your highness Amane? What are you doing here?"

"Ah I noticed Tsukasa standing in front of this door and asked why and he told me you felt sick." Amane holded Yashiro's shoulder. "Do you still feel sick? I can take you to the nurse." A concern and worried face was shown on Amane's face.

"It's fine your highness! I just need a bit of rest." Yashiro smiled. "Do you want to stay here? I think it's better for you to stay here for the rest of the evening so you feel better." "Ah can I really stay here?" Yashiro secretly wants to have a rest at home but cannot decline Amane's invitation to stay.

"Of course you can. Here, I'll bring you to the guest room and I'll ask my maids to take care of you." "Ah there's no need-!" Amane gripped Yashiro's hand. "I insist! You seem to be quite sick in the moment." Yashiro tries to show a smile. "Well then, please lead me to your guest room then."

Tsukasa enviously watches their conversation. "Tsk, I was here first but he had to appear and ask." Tsukasa then followed them to the guest room. I mean he didn't really need to but he followed anyway due to the lack of attention he got. Poor Yashiro, she couldn't even decline Amane's invitation to stay.
