─"the view of liyue from up here is beautiful!" you sighed wistfully.
"i couldn't agree more the view of liyue from the crow's nest of beidou's ship is like a breath of the fresh salty ocean air." kazuha hummed poetically.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING UP HERE KAZUHA!" you exclaimed, almost falling out of the crow's nest from pure shock.
"you didn't hear me come up?" kazuha questioned you.
"no you poetic geek i did not hear you come up here." you sighed while straightening out your pirate-like attire.
"your mind seems elsewhere are you alright (y/n)?" kazuha asked, his face showing clear concern.
"yeah kazuha i'm fine." you sent him a smile for reassurance. "just a little bit nervous about making the big move to liyue." you sighed quietly.
"well don't be, liyue is a wonderful place with wonderful things and a bunch of wonderful people." kazuha said with a soft pat on your back.
you nod softly and send kazuha a small appreciating smile.
"looks like we're about to reach the port we better get down to the deck." kazuha said after a couple of moments of silence.
you hummed softly to acknowledge that you heard him.
"in a bit i want to look at the view just a little bit longer, you go ahead and head down though." you whispered while continuing to stare at the gradually approaching liyue harbor.
"alright (y/n)." kazuha responded softly before carefully climbing back down to the deck of the ship.
you waited until you could hear the chatter from the people of liyue harbor before you decided to climb down to the deck of the ship to join the crew.
when you got down to the deck the atmosphere of the ship was very serious and almost tense.
you sent a confused glance to kazuha before walking over to him.
"hey kazuha, why's everyone so tense?" you asked while shifting uncomfortably.
"beidou's about to leave her office and everyone thinks she's in a bad mood from how long she's been in there." kazuha sighed.
"you don't look very tense?" you questioned kazuha.
"beidou's nothing to be scared of i highly doubt she's in a bad mood." kazuha shrugged his shoulders casually.
"nevermind it makes sense why you wouldn't be afraid of her everyone's been telling me how you guys are all like mother and son and stuff." you teased kazuha.
kazuha's cheeks turned slightly red making you giggle. "they're exaggerating, it's nothing like that we're just a little bit close that's all." kazuha pouted.
"i can't believe i haven't officially met her it's a shame really." you sighed dramatically.
"well it seems you're about to." kazuha whispers to you.
suddenly all of the noise on the ship seemed to vanish and the only thing that could be heard was the clicking of heels across the wooden deck
you looked up to see the much-talked-about captain beidou in the flesh looking very serious.
but god did she look good.

a/n: hello everyone this is my first genshin story and i am very excited to write it! just a warning i will probably get some lore wrong and make up my own on the way so please bear with me. you and kazuha are besties cause i said so. also cause he didn't come home and i am hoping this will convince him to. let's not talk about how i had to look up a whole diagram for a ship to write this chapter. anyways i hope you guys enjoyed this chapter i love you guys so so much stay healthy and stay safe!
