________"Harder!" A voice screamed in his head, as the next few punches were thrown in pure silence.
Silence.
He liked the sound of silence, never knew why though- just the way silence could help him focus on the task he had at hand to help him achieve what he deemed to be successful.
Silence was also often connected to sleep, which was something he craved. In the midst of his sleepless nights, all he could think about was hidden under a layer of silence in his mind. His silence could express so much more than anything else about him, especially his words to himself and others.
Throwing another hit at the punching bag, his heart beat louder then the silence around him as sweat dripped down his forehead. Breathing heavily, he throws another punch at the bag when he hears familiar footsteps retreating towards him.
"Come on, man," He heard a voice groan from behind him. Ignoring the disruption, he breathes in and out as he forcefully throws another fistful punch at the boxing bag.
"You're still training?" He finally turns around to identify the voice to be his best friend's.
"Come on, it's been hours Vinnie-" Kai groaned out, stepping closer to the training ring, "Give it a break man-" he added as he grabbed a bottle of water out of the duffel bag laying on the floor.
"I can't-" Vinnie whispered under his breath with a shake of his head as he turned around to face the punching bag again, getting in position.
"Yes, you can Vinnie-!" Kai shouted as he threw the bottle onto the floor, "you can take a damn break, trust me!" he let out as he ran both his hands through his overgrown hair, tugging his hair from the roots. A bad habit of his.
Vinnie rolled his eyes as he throws a punch towards the bag, letting out a grunt followed by a deep inhale, getting in position again.
"Are you at least coming to my party tonight?" he heard Kai say behind him as he threw a few more punches at the bag, each one with more force than the one before.
"No-" He breathed out, "I don't feel like it." He finished, slamming his fists into the punching bag again as he felt his heart beat start to increase.
"C'mon man." Kai brought his hands up in surrender, "You never feel like it until you come," he said as he took his phone out, "If you don't walk into that damn house by eleven, I will drag you there." He continued, still looking at his phone.
"Kai-" Vinnie took in a deep breath, "I really don't care enough, I have to practice anyway" He let out, pushing his hair back.
"You can always practice another time Vinnie..." Kai typed out a few messages on his phone while responding to Vinnie, "But you don't get to go to Kai Maybank's party another time.." He hummed, looking up and sending him a smile.
"Maybank!" Vinnie snapped his head towards Kai, "A week doesn't go by without the Malakai Maybank throwing a party at his house....Of course I can go another time." He sent him a smile back.
"No-" Kai shook his head, receiving a confused glance from the blonde boy standing in front of him, "Not like this one, Vin." He turned around and reached for the towel hanging from the turnbuckle of the ring, tossing it at Vinnie, "This one is different." He flashed his signature smirk at his best friend, a literal glow shining from his eyes.
"Kai, what did you do...?" Vinnie gave him a concerned look, "Well, what is it?!" He asked again when he got no response, taking in a deep breath to steady his heartbeat.
