Chapter 5: questions

It's been two days, two days since they let them go. Violet and Elina watched as their neighbors returned to their home, unaware of what had happened to them in the period of time where they went missing.

The building was flooded with police officers and family members of the individuals who came back suddenly with no proof of where they have been.

Violet and Elina both woke up inside of her apartment a few hours after. Violet started to question everything around her as a response to the shock that was brought up upon her and Elina. Trying to understand why she was in the conversation to even begin with.

She was not the only one worried though, Elina couldn't hide the anxious thoughts for much longer than a few hours. They both stared deeply into the white wall located not far away from the bed, suddenly the ringing coming from Elinas phone caught her attention, she quickly got out of bed and made her way towards the kitchen and grabbing her phone and answering the call.

"Hello?" she muttered over the phone, waiting for a response.

"Hello, am I speaking to Elina Jones?" The unknown man replied over the phone.

"Ye- Yes. who is this?" Elina questioned as she rubbed her eyes, shifting her weight on one leg to be more comfortable.

"This is agent Merrick Knox, I work with the case that has occcured in your building. I have been aware that you along with Violet Sterling have been abducted then returned back to your apartment in just matter of seventy two hours." He explained, "Do you mind coming here to answer a few questions please." He asked as Elina began to bite her lips, anxious over what was going to happen to her.

Are they gonna believe me?

What if they don't believe me?

Should I even tell them?

No.

No No No I can't tell them anything.

Its okay El, tell them everything.

Do the right thing.......no.

If you tell them- they're gonna hurt your family-

suck it up Elina, don't tell them anything.

"Elina?"She snapped out of her thoughts as she turned her head towards violet.

"Yes?" Elina continued to chew on her lips, making her way towards her purse.

"You cannot tell them Elina." Violet said with a worried face, making her way towards Elina.

"I know violet, I know." Elina let out a deep breath, "Its alright, we will together get this over with and as promised, they'll leave us alone, nothing to worry about." Elina dropped her phone inside the bag, turning her head back to look at violet.

"Yes.....right." Violet answered quickly grabbing the secret file she hid under the sofa and tossing it on the table, "While you're gone, ill go over this file and try to find our place to go to." She said as she opened the file, "It won't take much long dont worry el." She lowly smiled responding to Elinas worried face.

"Right-" Elina answered, "Ill be back soon." Elina finished as she grabbed her purse, making her way towards the door.

"Elina Jones?" The man questioned, getting up from his seat as Elina approached him with a weak smile, from the sound of his voice over the phone, Elina could've guessed that he was young and attractive but not this attractive.

"Yes hi, Merrick Knox right?"She responded, shaking his hand.

"Yes, nice to finally meet you Mr.Jones please take a seat if you dont mind." He sat back down, grabbing a pen with his right hand as his left hand found its way to the file located next to him.
