This is a short story having only 29 chapters, has a really simple plot and that is to prevent the novel's villain; Gu XuanYan from continuing his murder in this he will be able to ascend, easier said than done for our Zhong Yan who got transmigrated to the novel he read before a test and said the only way for him to go back is to change the villain's path, however his character in the novel was a no name background character who should have died after witnessing Gu XuanYan's first murder.
Reading this simply gave me anxiety waiting to see when the villain will kill Zhong Yan for foiling his plans and at the same time see how Gu XuanYan changed for Zhong Yan.
