As someone who read many books here and there and developed fast reading skills I can say that this still made me slow down and really think hard to concentrate what I am actually reading. Its a really nice story but for you to be able to understand it you need to have a wide imagination and understanding because the way the author tells the story has really deep words and metaphorical phrases that you will learn as did I (no worries there are foot notes in the story)
Its about comedy, drama, action and of course romance. Unlike the previous novels I recommended this one doesn't have any powers or fantasy in it, all the characters are mortals who rely on battle strategies and mind games. Chang Geng grew up in a small village living the days believing that he is just an ordinary person living with his mother and stepfather and the person who he holds dear in his heart, his Yifu. Until an attack happened and in the blink of an eye he discovered that he was not just some person in a small village and the Yifu he dotes on is not just a simple man. Faced with new changes in a new environment and new world how will Chang Geng handle this.
