Chapter XII: Cliffside

*Y/N's POV*

You: "What? Why? Akame please look at me." I stood up and went to the other side of the bed... she looked away again.. "Is there something I did? If so I'm sorry..." She then looked at me.... with tears in her crimson eyes..

Akame: "You did nothing... I did.... I'm a monster..."

You: "What? Why would you say that Akame?"

Akame: "Because of the red markings..."

You: "I don't understand..." She slowly sat up...

Akame: "It's because of my semblance I have those..."

You: "Your semblance?"

Akame: "My katana should be somewhere around... could you bring it to me?"

You: "Sure..." I stood up and looked around the room... the katana was lying on a shelf that was on the doors... I brought it to her... and she unsheathed it

Akame: "My semblance is called Cursed Blade... even Haven's headmaster forbid me to use it..."

You: "What does it do?"

Akame: "See the blade's color? When it's like this it does nothing..." then the katana's blade turned black... "... but when it's like this it means that whenever I cut something alive it dies... no matter how tiny the cut is... because the blade has a curse in it... and when it gets to the blood it makes its way towards the heart and once it reaches it... you're dead."

You: "But you cut yourself with it and you're still alive... does it not work on you since you're the semblance owner?"

Akame: "It does... but it works differently... that's why I have the markings... they're a sign I'm a monster..."

You: "You're not a monster Akame"

Akame: "I am... because whenever I use my semblance on myself I sacrifice a bit of my true self to become stronger..."

You: "How can you know that when you used it for the first time..."

Akame: "I knew... when I unlocked my semblance I heard a voice.. it said something like 'to become stronger you have to give up yourself.' I didn't understand it at first but after 4 years I realised what it meant."

You: "Akame-"

Akame: "How can you still look at me? Look at the monster-"

You: "YOU'RE NOT A MONSTER!" She jumped a little but then looked at me more tears streaming down her cheeks.. I hugged her... "You're not a monster... you never will be in my eyes..."

Akame: "B-But.."

You: "Just stop.... stop saying that... you're not..." I released from the hug as I wiped some tears off of her... just then the doors opened revealing Kurome...

Kurome: "Akame I heard-" she noticed me... "Ooops... am I interrupting something?" She smirked..

You: "No... come in."

She entered...

Kurome: "Akame... why did you use your semblance on yourself? You know what-"

Akame: "I know... I'm stupid I did that.... but... who won?"

You: "You did..."

Kurome: "Well I'm glad you're alright... I just came to see you and I see you're in good hands... see you later..." she left...

Akame: "That was strange..."

You: "Yes... Akame?"

Akame: Yes Y/N?"
