MY BREATH HITCHES AS Motoyasu comes into view. We were trying to travel, but no longer hid our identities. Because of that we got spotted right away.

I sighed as Motoyasu stops us.

"Motoyasu I want to talk, we're not here to start a fight. We just want to pass by."

"Is that you have to say?! Devil of the shield!" He leaps to attack Naofumi but he covers himself with his shield.

They start fighting while yelling at each other. Well Motoyasu was attacking while Naofumi just dodged. He didn't want to fight anymore.

"You murdered Ren and Ituski!"

They start arguing again as Myne appears and casts a spell around us. So we couldn't leave.

That's when the real fighting began. We all started fighting back attacks as Motoyasu's team attacked.

I smirk at Myne running to her. She tries to use her magic but my blades reflect her magic. Finally in rage I thrust my blades to hit her, causing her to fall down. "You bitch-"

I don't let her finish her sentence as I smack her. "That's for what you did to me and Naofumi."

Suddenly Filo grabs me before kicking all of Motoyasu's team towards Naofumi. "What's wrong Filo?"

"Quick master Naofumi, bring your rage shield and a lot of other ones. If you don't we are done for. Quick!"

Naofumi nods calling out for shield prison and air shield.

Then a strong blast hits us. Screams were heard as everyone took cover. "Minerva!" I run to Naofumi hugging his waist. At first he was hugging me back but then he had to let go as his shield prison broke. Using his rage shield Naofumi yelled casting a shield over us.

After what it seemed like forever the blast finally stopped. Naofumi struggled to breath almost falling down but I held him.

"Naofumi? Are you okay?" I asked with concern as he looked at me with a smile. "As long as you're safe yes."

I blush smiling but we hear a voice interrupt us.

"That was a powerful blast yet you're still standing. I expect nothing less from the shield hero."

"I know you, you're from the church cathedral."

"Oh I see you're aware of your sins then"

"My sins?"

"You shall be punished, i will purify you in the name of god."

I glare as all the arguments begin. We learn that the Pope was to take over the royals. He was the one who killed Ren and Itsuki. I rolled my eyes as Motoyasu muttered . "So Naofumi didn't kill them?"

The Pope then takes out a sword that was glowing. "Naofumi be careful that sword is bad news!" Melty screamed.

Before anything could happen Myne and Motoyasu start throwing attacks.

All of his party threw attacks but it was all useless. It did however anger the Pope so he threw a attack himself.

I gasp as the fire grew around us. I reach back keeping the girls behind me.

"Meteor swords!" "Meteor arrows!"

We all turn gasping when we see Ituski and Ren land in front of us. They managed to put the Pope on his knees.

They al start attacking as Naofumi turns to us. "Let's sit down" We look confused but follow his orders. "He starts describing his plan as we nod.

"Hey what are you doing?"

"I'm not going to play around with y'all." Naofumi replied.

"It's not the time for your lone wolf-"

"I'm not going to fight next to the guy who tried to kill me when all I wanted to do was talk." Naofumi interrupted.

And like that the arguments started once more. Groaning i cover my eyes as I block out their words.

I don't understand how we got stuck with the most gullible annoying hero's. They're particularly useless. All they do is fight and not work together. Naofumi always tries but he was the one they betrayed.

I open my eyes surprised as the hero's agree to work under Naofumi. I stand up along the others as I take out my blades.

I stand next to Naofumi as the Pope talks "Stand with the devil shield, it doesn't matter you all will die."

Then he casts a cage trapping us inside this green castle looking thing.

We gasp but don't let our guard down. I watched as the Pope laugh without a care. That's when the attacks started.

Everyone started throwing attack after attack. It was weird fighting along the other hero's.

I looked at Naofumi who grabbed my hand. "Bring me back."

I looked in confused but realization hit. "Wait-"

"Cured power!"

I block a attack heading towards him as he freezes. It was as if he was having a conversation going on in his head.

I see an blast attack about to hit Ren so I leap in the air blocking the blast with my blades. "Thanks!"

I nod as we continue to fighting the blasts. "Minerva!" I turn to see that fire starts over Naofumi as he starts walking towards the Pope.

"Naofumi!" He didn't look conscious at all. Raphtalia, Filo and Melty were holding onto but nothing seemed to stop him.

"He needs you!" Raphtalia tells as they're thrown off of him.

I run dropping my blades.

I throw my body hugging his torso. My body starts burning up as pain filled my body. I ignore it and cried into Naofumi. "Please come back to me Naofumi! I can't lose you, Naofumi! We need you, you were always so kind to us. You took care of Raphtalia, raised Filo, and then saved Melty's life. And most importantly you filled my life with purpose and love. Please come back I love you!"

My words put out the fire as Naofumi's eyes go back to normal. "Huh?"

I sighed happily falling down. "Minerva !"

He catches me gently and sits me down. "Thank you for bring me back my love, now stay down."

I nod as he turns to the Pope. They start attacking as I struggle to keep my eyes open.

The queen gets there and helps from outside the cage which gives Naofumi the chance to use his cursed shield against the Pope.

Screams for Naofumi left my mouth as his body is torn apart. Endless of blood left his body. "No!"

I struggled to get to him but as I crawled to him a giant blood creature breaks the ground eating the Pope. I gasp as the cage breaks down.

Naofumi fall unconscious once his creature disappeared.

"Naofumi!" I finally got to his body as I lose my conscious.
