Karan married preeta and then left her on the road. Preeta was heartbroken and was going back to her home when abhi and pragya who were on the same road noticed her and took her home. The story starts when preeta sent divorce papers to karan demanding karan and luthra's property as alimony and shrishti came in disguise to know the conditions but was caught by kareena.

Abhi is cousin of rishabh and karan. He is loved dearly in luthra family. Abhi's mother was sister of mahesh and kareena so mahesh is abhi's mama. Since his mother is no more he was loved by everyone in luthra family. He and rishabh have difference of one year while karan is younger.
