Chapter 5: Time To Attack

It was 3:00am in the morning Hayden was making coffee in the kitchen, Marshall was looking at the modifications he was planning to use on the prepper vehicle to make it run better and be easier to control/drive, Ann was still getting out of bed, and Pol... Well, Pol was still sleeping. Today was the long weekend for everyone, so when everyone was finally up Candace asked if anyone had checked the news?

Marshall responded that: "He did, and nothing was happening except for the rodeo"

Pol said: "Well, what if it's happening now?"

So everyone got up to check to see if something was wrong now. But there was still nothing. And because of this they talked and decided to go to the rodeo ground to see if anything was happening in the rodeo.

When they left the house they forgot to turn the T.V off and a whole minute or two after they left, a breaking news came over the television. Reporting that some explosions blew up two different buildings, the first was the firefighting station. The second explosion took out the police station. The hospital was unable to respond because the first explosion took out their ambulances. The fires of explosion were not able to be put out because of the buildings that were targeted. While all this chaos was going on the roads that exit the town. Were blocked by some masteariuse road blocks that were placed on the roads for seemingly no reason. As all of this was going on the group were nearing the town but then there were the roadblocks. Since there was no one to tell them otherwise they would have just blown through, But they were all made of concrete.

Hayden: "LOOK OUT!!!"

"SCREECH" the wheels bagged for mercy, as Marshall slammed the brakes all the way down.

Pol: "SHIIIIT!!!"

Ann was frozen by shock.

When the Ford minivan finally came to a screeching halt just two feet from the small wall, Hayden turned around to ask if any was hurt, but Marshall jumped out of the van to throw up on the road before Hayden could get the words out. When Ann unfroze she got up to see if Marshall was okay.

Ann asked with a panicked tone: "Are you okay Marshall?"

Marshall finished up what he was doing: "Ugh...yeah, but...could be better. "

Hayden: "You good Pol?"

Pol: "Yeah, but one question. Why is this here and where did it come from?"

Hayden: "Good question Pol..."

Pol gets out to investigate the giant concrete road blocks. Hayden was just getting out when Pol said that he heard a bush moving around across the ditch. Marshall finally stood up and looked in Hayden and Pol's direction.

Marshall: "What did you hear?"

Pol: "There something in the bushes"

Hayden: "It's probably nothing and your just hearing things, or it's just a squirrel"

As they stood there Ann told Pol to go look to see if anything was there.

Pol: "WHAT?! Hell no Ann."

Ann: "Why not?"

Pol: "What if it's a bear, if anything we should send Hayden."

Hayden slowly turning: "Why is that Pol? Cause I'm tall?"

Pol: "Exactly!"

Hayden: "sighs, Fine I'll go."

As Hayden was about to go into the bush a Typhon phantom jumped out. Hayden falls down backwards on his ass because he trips on a tree root. Marshall goes down to help them up. Pol and Ann jump in the van, Ann holds open the big sliding door while Pol tries staring up the van's engine with the key. Hayden, helped up to his feet, starts running towards the van with Marshall. As they run towards the van the monster is right on their tail and the van is driving away from them. As the van and people are getting away, Ann is in the door trying to help them into the van. Hayden reaches out for Ann's hand, grabbing it and being hoisted into the van Hayden sits where Ann was and helps Marshall up into the van. When Marshall is in the van Ann gets up to the front and tells Pol to step on it. As he just steps on the gas pedal they hear something bang on the van, Marshall turns to look through the back window seeing the creature's lage disappearing onto the roof. They're speeding away when the creature is crawling on their roof. While Pol is driving, he tries looking up through the front windshield. Then... BOOM the phantom is on the hood. Pol swerves back and forth on the road trying to knock it off the front, as it is also trying to break through the windshield.
