One Favour Too Many

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

Wednesday 18th January 2021

I wake up to the sound of my alarm. 

'Fuck!' I groan as I tumble out of bed. I put on my uniform and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I put on some mascara, concealer, a bit of blush and straighten my hair. I quickly run downstairs and grab some cereal. After I finish my breakfast I get my bag ready and leave the house to cycle to school. As I was cycling to school, the roaring of a car alarms me. I rapidly turn my head to try and figure out where the noise was coming from, when it finally made sense. I saw the same car that Xavier was leaning on yesterday, a Bugatti La Voiture Noire. 

'Of course.' I whispered to myself. 

Without falling off my bike I roll my eyes at the driver of the car, which naturally led him to smirk at me and drive off speedily leaving smoke to consume me.

'You dick!' I tried to shout at him, but he had already driven off.

Around 10 minutes later I finally get to school. I walk past his Bugatti, every nerve in my body wanting to dent his car as some sort of payback. However, even I knew the cost of the damage would leave me homeless. I gather my feelings together and just let out a sigh before walking into the doors of the school. 

My first lesson was Biology. Thank fuck, I wouldn't have been able to deal with his stupid smirk all throughout English. I made my way down the long halls which were surrounded by cold stone on each side. I think I could remember where Biology was from yesterday, so I continue until I get to the suspected classroom where Biology took place. I peek through the window and see Charlotte and Ellie. I let out a sigh of relief. I open the creaky door and make my way down the aisles of seats and desks until I reached them both.

'Hey, guys.' I say

'Oh hey, Bella!' Ellie replies with a welcoming smile on her face.

'I'm surprised you were able to remember your way here!' Charlotte jokes.

'Yeah haha, it was the first classroom I could see so I just hoped it would be the right one.' I replied.

They both laughed.

'I really can't be arsed to listen to Miss Jones waffle about her dying rabbit again, she spent half the lesson on it yesterday!' Charlotte says amusingly.

'God I know!' I reply.

'Do you guys know how Xavier is able to afford a Bugatti La Voiture Noire? I swear they are worth a few million.' I ask quizically.

'His dad is William Black, CEO of the richest oil company in the world.' Charlotte replies.

'Oh, shit really? One of the richest in the world?' I reply.

'Yeah but everyone here is super-wealthy.' Ellie continues.

'For example, Sophie and Allen's family owns one of the biggest computing companies in the world. That's how Xavier and Allen became friends. Both their fathers are business partners.'

'What about Leo and Edward?' I ask.

'Leo's insanely good at rugby, so he got into this school through a sports scholarship. He worked his way into this school, unlike most of the other students.' Charlotte replies.

'Edward and I are cousins so our parents both own shares in the property development company that was given to them by our grandparents.' Ellie says.

'Wow, so you guys are super rich.' I reply.

They both reply with a laugh and start to change the subject.

'So what are your plans for the future?' Ellie inquires.
