Crickets pov:
Me and Bruce were working on locating the tesseract when I spot someone in the hallway. "And they didn't think to invite us" I scoff.

"Well unlike you, I prefer to stay out of the action" Bruce says with a chuckle.

"But why? You are one of the strongest people here. I mean you could level a city without breaking a sweat!"

Bruce doesn't say anything. Shit. I shouldn't have said that. For fuck sake.

"I didn't mean it in a bad way, seriously. I just think you two are really awesome".

"Well, you'd be the first"

There is a moment of silence before Natalia came in and told us to head to the bridge.

On the bridge.
There is a live recording being played of Fury and Loki talking. I honestly couldn't care less about what he's saying, something about the hulk and being desperate to ask for his help. And then goes on a rant about the power of the tesseract.

"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Bruce says.

"I'll admit it's amusing" I agree earning a dirty look from blondie.

"Loki's gonna drag this out" Steve states. "So, Thor, what's his play"

Thor! That's his name couldn't think of it. "He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard nor of any world known." Thor explains. "He means to lead then against your people. They will win him the earth, in return, I suspect for the tesseract."

"An army?" Steve questions "from outer space?" Jeeze he is really out of his element, isn't he.

"So, he's building another portal." Bruce says "that's what he needs Erik Selvig for."

"Selvig?" Thor questions. How does he not know who he is?!

"He's an astrophysicist" I say.

"He's a friend" Thor retorts. oh thank god I thought he was stupid for a second

"Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours." Nat says. Huh, I did think it was a little bit quiet around here.

"I want to know why Loki let us take him" Steve says very loudly.  I think I burst an ear drum "he's not leading an army from in here.

"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki" Bruce suggests.

"Yeah" I agree "that guys brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy off him."

Have care how you speak, Loki is beyond reason but he is of Asgard" Thor practically scolds. "And he is my brother"

"Yeah, he also killed 80 people in two days" I reply smugly

"He's adopted" Thor mumbles.

"I think it's about the mechanics" Bruce states. "Iridium... what does he need that for?"

"It's a stabliz-" before I could even finish the word I get cut off by another person walking into the room.

"It's a stabilising agent" lo and behold tony Stark walks into the room. "It means the portal won't collapse on itself like it did at shield. No hard feelings point break. You've got a mean swing."

"Then the portal can open as wide and stay open for as long as he wants." I say putting two and two together.

"Exactly" Stark says pointing at me. "Raise mizzenmast   Jib the topsails" everyone just looks at him as if he's crazy. "That man is playing Galaga. He thought we wouldn't notice, but we did."

He has been here for less than five minutes and he's already getting on my nerves.

"The rest of the raw materials agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. The major component he still needs is a power source of high-energy density" Tony says looking at the various screens in front of him. "Something to kick start the cube."

"When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" Agent hill questions.

"Last night" he answers blankly. "The packet. Selvig's notes, the extraction theory papers. Am I the only one who's been reading?"

"No, that's like the first thing I read" I say as if it's obvious.

"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?" Steve questions. I almost feel sorry for him

"He would have to heat the cube to 120 million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier." Bruce says

"Unless Selvig has found a way to stabilise the quantum tunnelling effect." I mention

"Well if he could do that he could achieve heavy ion fusion at any reactor on the planet." Bruce says.

"Finally!" Stark announces "someone who speaks English"

"Is that what just happened?" Steve questions under his breath.

"It's good to meet you Dr. Banner. Your work on antielectron collisions is unparalleled" Tony says to the doctor. "And I'm a huge fan of the way you loose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster."

"Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube." Fury says finally making an entrance. "I was hoping you might join him and Cricket."

"Huh, Cricket? That's a weird name" Tony says under his breath

"Thanks" I say just before I can get cut off by Steve and his insanly  loud voice

"I would start with that stick of his, it may be magical but it works an awful lot like a hydra weapon." Steve says

I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube" fury says "and I would like to know how Loki used it to turn two of my sharpest men into his own personal flying monkeys"

"Monkeys?" Thor questions "I don't understand"

"I do" Steve says excitedly "I understood that reference".

"Shall we play" Tony questions motioning to me and Bruce

"Right this way" I say

Then we make our way to my lab
