Gon looked up at him and beamed. "I fixed it" he looked down, then back up at his face. "how?" he shrugged, "dunno, but last time I hoped really hard that your cut would heal soon and it did. The same thing happened this time too!" he smiled, then ruffled his hair. "good for you" Tanjiro cleared his throat. "we have plans today" the entire room looked in his direction. "so, I've been called on a mission from headquarters" he sat up straight. "apparently children are disappearing, it's one or two every night" Killua growled a little and he paused. Gon put a hand on his shoulder. "let him finish" he nodded, and subsided. Tanjiro blinked at him for a few moments before continuing. "anyways, they sent a few slayers and none of them could track it. Apparently no children were taken the night they tried to find them" he was starting to get an idea. "how old were these kids?" Tanjiro sighed. "from eight to fourteen"

Killua grinned. "well, I happen to fit that criteria" he got shocked looks from all three of his other companions. "you can't use yourself as bait They'll smell the sword" he shrugged. "I don't need it, my yoyos can easily restrain a demon" Tanjiro tried to protest but eventually gave in. "alright fine, but I'm giving you three hours. If you're not back within that timeframe I'm going after you" he stood up, stretching a bit. "hell yeah!" Gon leapt up beside him. "sounds like fun!" he glanced sideways at Gon. "you're not coming" he said firmly. Gon pouted, "but why not!" he rolled his eyes. "you're a demon. It won't work" he huffed and ran off. He waited for a few minutes when Gon came back with one of his shirts. It was really long on him and he had shrank a bit to where he looked about 8. "I can hide my scent! Also cover my tail!" He sighed. "fine whatever, but don't cause trouble" he nodded and grabbed his bamboo. "alright lets go"

He and Gon waited for nightfall before going, Gon decided to hold his hand and he honestly didn't mind too much. "Ni-chan" that sounds so weird coming from him. But they decided to act like siblings who were just on a night stroll. "yes Otouto-san?" he glanced up at him. "it feels so peaceful out here" he nodded. "yeah" they were walking through the streets, it was really nice just holding hands and looking up at the stars. He had his yoyos in the pockets of his outfit, it was a normal looking outfit that he just bought from a random store. The thing was ugly in his opinion, but Gon said it looked cute on him. They had just been walking for about ten minutes when they came upon a lake. Gon tugged him to the edge and they sat down on a rock, looking up at the stars. They were obscured very little by the trees around the lake. He activated En as he relaxed, chatting idly with Gon.

They had talked for about thirty minutes when he sensed a presence. He put a finger up as he was talking. 'someone coming this way' Gon nodded a little and frowned slightly. "Ni-chan, I'm cold" he sighed, then brought Gon closer and put an arm around him. "this better?" Gon smiled a little and nodded. "yeah, I feel much better" the presence had snuck closer and was now only 5 meters away. Killua ruffled Gon's hair. "time to go home Otouto-san" Gon pretended to pout. "but I wanna stay a bit longer!" he shook his head and stood up. "come on, it's getting late" Gon stood up and grabbed his hand. "ok, Ni-chan knows best" they walked for a few seconds when the air started to get hazy. This must be the demon's doing. Suddenly Gon stumbled a little and he caught him. "Gon!" he panted. "feel so sleepy" is that mist some sort of sleeping gas?

He pretended to get groggy too, walking back over to the rock and setting Gon down on it before laying down himself. Thankfully he knew how to fake sleep, so all he had to do was wait and listen. "did you get em?" Aha. He activated En and saw that it was actually a group of three demons, the one that had spoken seemed to be the second one. The mist faded and he felt Gon twitch a little. Wait, did he hold his breath? Did he know it was sleeping gas? "should be, let's take them back to the-" Gon moved and he leapt up at the same time, Killua whipped his yoyos out and wrapped them around the two who were in front of them. "WHAT THE HELL!" Gon had tackled the third and beamed. "That was a really cool technique!" Killua shot him a glare. "Gon! He just tried to eat you!" Gon giggled, growing back to his normal height and his tail came into view.

"you're a demon?" the first demon yelped. "why are you working with humans!" the second one cried. He beamed over at Killua, which made him blush slightly. "because he's my best friend!" Gon brought a hand down on the demon's skull, then after it was dead he walked over and grabbed one of his arms. Gon's tail wagged and he ruffled Killua's hair. "it's three against one! Just bite him!" one snarled. He blinked. "excuse me?" his town lowered a bit and Killua's eyebrows raised slightly. "just kill him! We can split the meal!" Gon froze, then let out a furious growl. "split? You mean share? Share my Killua? With you?" hold on a fucking minute, did Gon just say I was his? Maybe it was a demon thing, he wouldn't really know unless he asked. He thought it was really cute how he was all possessive. "he's planning on eating you!" one of the demons shouted in desperation. "nah he wouldn't" Killua ruffled his hair some, "I kind of let him have some of my blood sometimes, kill em if you want to Gon"

Gon snarled, then tackled one of the tied up demons and maybe cut a leg off. It screamed and he let it suffer for a few seconds before killing it. When Gon turned to the other one it looked terrified, although the second demon hadn't actually provoked him at all. He crushed it's head quickly and Killua pulled his yoyos back. "hold on a second" he turned, tail wagging. "yeah?" Killua was looking at him with a calculated expression. "did you just call me yours?" he blushed a little, "I-I- ok fine I did" he grumbled, tail drooping. "since when did you start thinking that?" he asked curiously. Gon thought for a moment. "well, once I became a demon I guess" Killua chuckled a little, "well I think it's cute" Gon blushed some more and looked away. Killua thinks I'm cute! His tail wagged really fast and he tried to calm it down. "so, do you wanna stay or go back to the cabin?" Gon grabbed his hand again, for some reason he constantly felt the urge to do so. "Cabin! You need sleep"

He and Killua walked back home, taking their time though because it was relaxing. They arrived at the cabin about 10:30 and when they walked in the door, Tanjiro was still awake. "what took you so long" he said, slightly irritated. Gon could tell that that irritation came from worry though, Tanjiro did actually care about them. "well we didn't come back very fast, and also there were three demons instead of just one" Gon crossed his arms. "one of them suggested to share Killua! Can you believe that? So I ripped his leg off and bashed his head in!" he said, beaming and grabbing Killua's arm as his tail wagged. Tanjiro looked like he didn't know how to feel about that. "your very different from Nezuko" he said. Gon blinked. "really? I thought she'd kill demons for you as well." he sighed. "not really kill them, but she does protect me with her life. Nezuko's a lot less violent though" Killua snickered "probably because she was a normal and sweet girl when she was human, this idiot was unstable before he became a demon" Gon shrugged. "you always say that, but I'm not sure what you mean by it"

Killua sighed. "I was told you jumped off of a fucking boat in the middle of a goddamn hurricane" he nodded. "well yeah, but the guy got knocked off the ship and neither Kurapika or Leorio could catch him, so I had to jump" it was simple logic, so why did Tanjiro have that look on his face? "when did this happen?" he asked. "oh! I was 12! That was before I met Killua actually, I was on my way to the hunter's exam with Kurapika and Leorio" Killua blinked. "how long did you know them before you met me?" he shrugged. "a few days, we met on the ship when the captain said that we were the only three who had passed the pre exam thing. Something about reasoning? I forget" Killua blinked. "oh, I didn't have to do that. I just ki- uhm. I just got rid of anyone who told me no" he looked away for a second and Gon's tail stopped wagging. Gon grabbed his hand and gave him a smile. "hey! Don't be sad!" he knew that Killua was feeling upset about how he used to kill innocent people without remorse or something, but Gon had forgiven him already. It was the only thing he was taught how to do, it's not his fault.

Killua glanced back over at him and smiled back a little, which made his tail wag. I can tell that wasn't genuine, but he tried. Killua led him back to his room in silence, and Gon went with him. Tanjiro looked after them but said nothing. As soon as they got into their room Killua sat down on the bed with a sigh. "do you need to talk?" he asked. Sometimes it helped when he got to vent out his feelings, Gon always sat and listened to him. Occasionally he had to reassure him that he wasn't an awful person, which made him sad that Killua thought that way. "maybe" Killua leaned on him a little and he put an arm around him. Killua almost never showed affection like that, which meant that he was having one of those moments when he was feeling really down. "what's on your mind?" Gon spoke softly for once, trying his best to be calm and understanding. "I'm scared"
