Chapter 3: Confession and Betrayal

Well it's gifts for Y/n! Xiao felt sorry for Y/n since he knows the feeling of losing some people close to him.

"Hm what would they like?" Xiao thought as he heard a high pitched voice calling him from behind.

"Hey Xiao!" Paimon greeted.

"Oh it's you Paimon. Sorry I didn't see you there." Xiao replied to the girl.

"Oh it's no worries. I actually came her for you." Paimon mentioned.

"For me?" Xiao asked.

"Yeah! I saw you here and knew you were here to get Y/n something." Paimon said with a big grin.

"What? But how'd you know?" This was a surprise since everyone at his college knew he wasn't the type to feel empathy for someone.

"Oh you know...~" Paimon said

"Let's just say I know you think Y/n's special..." Paimon said with an even bigger smirk on her face.

"Y-you wha-" Xiao said clearly embarrassed

"Oh no need to be shy. Plus the only reason you met them was because I set you up to distract Y/n from her brother." Paimon replied

"And you did agree to it since I said there's a chance you may get a chance with them, right?" Paimon was throwing bullets and for some reason Xiao couldn't dodge them like normal.

Well it's to be expected. All these words coming out of Paimons mouth were actually true. (For once)

"W-well..." Xiao felt defeted. And by some dumb Emergency food too.

"See you admit that I'm right." Paimon was proud. And it clearly shows.

She could go on and on about the agreement they both made, but she decided to go easy on him since the poor boy already suffered enough.

"T-this is to much. What if Y/n catches me like this. I can't let her see me off guard." Xiao said

"Don't worry Y/n's visiting their mom right now and won't be back till tomorrow." Paimon replied

"Ugh I'm done here" Xiao said pissed off.

"But didn't you want to get Y/n someth-'' Paimon got cut off by Xiao's words.

"Screw it." Xiao said as he turned his back on Paimon.

"Well I can't blame him for being mad... even though that was kinda fun." Paimon smirked

*Timeskip*

Xiao and Y/n finally graduated college and continue to be friends for the next 2 years. That was until something happened recently.

"Xiao." Y/n said as they both stood under a cherry blossom tree.

"There's something I need to tell you..." Y/n said as they try to hide something behind their back.

"I need to tell you something too." Xiao said

"Should I go first then?" Y/n asked

"Sure." Xiao replied

"I really like you Xiao..."

Xiao stood there. Not knowing how to respond.

"Um... y'know Y/n. I'm sorry but I don't think I'm ready for something like that..." Xiao said with complete guilt in his eyes.

"But I promise, I'll tell you when I'm ready." Xiao said hoping it wouldn't ruin their friendship.

"I see. That's alright. Everyone has their own pace. Don't worry I'll make sure to wait for you." Y/n said a little disappointed.
