Another day, another round of complaints from random genshin players.
It's always been like this though. Ever since Y/n got their job as a social media manager, they've seen countless amounts of leaks, spoilers, toxic players, and more.
It was overwhelming at first but they got used to it over time. Now it's kinda either just bothering or funny.
As Y/n finishes getting ready they get another strange email. But this time it's more terrifying than last time.
The email read:
"I know who you are. And I need you to meet me at *********. It's very important and I need to talk to you about it. Don't try and ignore this email. I know you see this. Meet me at 5:00 pm today. See you.
From
-Unknown"
"No... This cant be. It can't be him, right?" Y/n questioned themself. The email sounded threatening. They were too scared to reply or report.
"It's him. So Paimon was being serious. What do I do now?" Y/n was terrified. They wanted to skip work but that would be unacceptable since Mihoyo really needed them.
The 2.0 update was released today and they needed them to be there to take care of any complaints from players.
"What do I do? Am I safe? Do I tell them I'm skipping work today?" Y/n mumbled all these things. They were shaking. They weren't safe.
*DING*
"AH, WHO THE FUCK WAS THAT?" Y/n yelled clearly traumatized.
"1 message from Paimon."
"Oh. It's Paimon. What does she want?" Y/n said to themself.
(This next convo is text-based btw)
"Hey just asking do you wanna get some coffee after work today?" The message read
"Coffee? Well, I guess that wouldn't be dangerous, right?"
Right?
"Sure! I'll be down for some coffee. When do you wanna meet?" Y/n answered
"5:00 pm," Paimon replied
Oh no. What if-
"Do wanna go maybe a little later or....?" Y/n said hoping Paimon would change her mind
"Well, I get off work at like 4:00 pm, and then I need to settle in. So 5:00 pm is the only time I'm free. Why is there something wrong?" Paimon asked
"No no it's ok," Y/n answered
"Ok then! See ya there!" Paimon replied
(End of convo)
What could go wrong? Right....?
"Good day Ms/Mr/Mx. Y/n."
With a blank look, Y/n quickly flashes a fake smile and moves along.
It was like this for the rest of the workday. Blank expression. Fake smiles. All that would describe Y/n's entire day at work.
Making a big deal of the situation would cause a commotion and ruin the entire day.
So for now they will just keep what they know to themselves.
Time check: 4:46 pm
It was almost time to leave. Y/n looked fine on the outside but was dreading on the inside.
But yet again there was no time for that. They had to go.
"It's just gonna be for a short while," they said to themselves.
At the place.
Hmm, I wonder where Paimon could be? Y/n thought
While looking they came across a short dark green man. It seems like he was looking for someone too.
But that wasn't stopping Y/n from looking for their friend.
"Um excuse me? Have you seen a short white-haired woman by any chance...?" Y/n asked hoping they would get some info.
The second the man turned around they immediately recognized each other.
XIAO? Y/n screamed in utter shock.
"Y/n? Finally, I have found you." Xiao said sounding quite relieved.
"You what? Xiao, what are you talking about?" Y/n replied confused
"I broke up with Venti. Will you forgive me?" Xiao said
"Wait what? Why would you break up with him? You guys seemed to be really happy together." Y/n said a little shocked after what Xiao told them.
"I was happy. At the moment... But I realized that it was a mistake. Please forgive me at least." Xiao answered
"I'm sorry Xiao but, I have my own life now. I've moved on and you should too." Y/n replied toning their voice down a bit.
"I can accept you as a friend though," Y/n said
"No."
Huh? What did he mean by "No". Was he upset?
"Wait Xiao, what do you mean no?" Y/n asked taken aback a little.
There was silence for a bit. What was going on?
"Xiao please just give me an explanation. I understand that you still want to be with me but Xiao... I need you to move on. It would be better for the both of us." Y/N said in a calming voice
"HEY Y/N WHERE WERE I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR YOU EVERYW-"
Oops. Wrong timing.
Paimon quickly read the room and moved away giving the two some space.
"Sorry about her. Anyways Xiao I need you to talk to me, please. Why?" Y/n pleaded
