AN: What up people? I have come out of hibernation and a general need to sleep away my weekend to put this chapter up. Hope y'all like it- and do look at the pictures for this chapter. It'll help you understand what I'm talking about. (On a daily basis, most people don't know what I'm talking about. I'm crazy like that)
Over 1,500 words! Enjoy

Pete POV

I thought coming to Dauntless was supposed to make me fearless...but I've never been more scared than I am now. I mean, I get that we're only 18, but I figured we could make it a really long engagement. We've already been living with each other for 2 years, and while we do fight, it's more like squabbling and bickering. She wins all the arguments, but that's one of the things I love about her. She's totally cut loose and having fun every day. Even her job of ambassador is done with good humor, and a truck load of sarcasm. I can't help but fall in love more and more everyday. And I know she loves me too...so why not propose?

So, I know she's not exactly the type to dress up and be fancy, so guess what I did? Oh yeah, we're going ziplining! But what I have planned, is that when we get to the end, the people catching her will be holding a tarp that says, "Marry Me? (Please?)". I'll go with her in a double sling so that I'm ready there for her answer, although I suppose if she says no, I'm screwed.

I hear a knock on the door and I sneak one last look at the ring, after screaming, "Wait a minute, I'm almost ready!" As she snickers outside the door, I check the ring one last time. It's black metal, twisted around in a circle, with one small diamond and one slightly bigger diamond. I bought it the minute I saw it, because she's the more important part of my infinity forever. The bigger diamond means she is always more important to me than myself.

I gear up and walk out, facing her. I stand a head taller than her, but she's still a feisty firecracker. She's dressed in a black tank, black and grey camo cargo skinnies. Her newly cut hair just brushes the top of her shoulders with a windswept look. She's wearing the earrings I got her for her 18th birthday. And she's smirking at me with an expression that says, "I thought girls were supposed to be the ones who took a long time to get dressed". I look down at my black tee and black cargo pants. I offer her my hand and bow, and she takes it with a smile.

It takes us a while to reach the Hancock building for our ziplining. Down in the crowd are Tris and Four, having just returned from their honeymoon, Christina, Will, Brianne, Ryker, Zeke, Shauna, Uriah, Marlene, Shay, Caylee, and Austin who's become my best buddy.

We go down in a double sling, but this time, the exhilaration's double for me. We're holding hands as we go down, and she's beautiful in the moonlight, carefree and alive. We stop above the tarp after I pull the brake cord. I hear her gasp besides me, and I yell out, "Will you marry me?" Before I can respond, she unhooks us both from the sling and we plummet, landing on the tarp. She rolls over to face me, smiling and teary, kisses me, and says, "Yes! What did you think I was going to say, idiot?"

Everyone around me cheers, with the girls crying just a bit, as I put the ring on her finger. She gasps at seeing it, smiles, and asks me about the diamonds. I say, "Because you will always be more important to me than myself, and you are the biggest part of my infinity." And for the first time ever, I see her cry, but out of happiness. I make a note to myself to remember this day forever, cause only a fool wouldn't.

ONE WEEK LATER ONE WEEK LATER ONE WEEK LATER ONE WEEK LATER

Ryker POV
Ever since Pete proposed to Ananya, Brianne's been a little down. She's been dropping hints about a proposal, but I've brushed them off. What she doesn't know is that Pete and I had a little shooting contest to see who would propose first. He won, so he chose to go first. We agreed the loser would propose a week afterward. So I already have my perfect (or not?!) proposal plan in place. I know that Brianne is the soft, sensitive, musical type. What nobody knows is that a mile away from the Ferris wheel, there is a carousel that plays a sweet version of Brianne's favorite song. So, I plan to take her there, have a picnic on the roof of this newly cleaned up carousel, and then, bring her down for a ride, and just as the ride ends, she'll turn around to find me ready with ring in hand. It's a perfect plan- except for the fact that I'm completely and utterly freaking out.

Before I can think anymore, Brianne's knocking at the door, asking if I'm ready to go. She had gone to Ananya's to get all fancied up for the date. I open the door and gasp. Her deep brown hair, with hints of red, is curled at the ends, with part of it up. She's wearing natural make up, although it accentuates her blue eyes. Her dress is navy blue fading into black, with rhinestones placed to look like the night sky. She looks like an angel...wait, am I drooling? Nope. Okay, back to the plan. She looks excited, with a hint of hope in her eyes. I offer her my arm, and we run to the train, laughing as we jump on. She looks so sweet and carefree in this light- her insecurities flying away in the wind, letting her just smile and be happy. As we pass the Ferris wheel, we jump off, and she asks, "Are we going to the Ferris wheel?" And I reply, "Nope. For you, I have something more special." I pick her up, bridal style, and she asks, "Is it close by?" I reply back, "Well, if you think one mile is close, then yes! That's why I'm carrying you my lady!" She giggles, and settles into my arms.

As we get closer, she sees the carousel and gasps, watching it gleam in the moonlight. I smile and set her back on her feet, and send a silent challenge with my eyes. She sees me, smirks, takes a running leap, grabs the edge of its roof, and hauls herself up, dusting herself off, while I stand there with my jaw dropped. I join her, and we feast on all her favorite foods. As I climb down, she sits down on a horse, and I press the button to start it before she realizes that I'm not with her, and she grabs a pole as it starts up. She hears her favorite song, and smiles, with tears, asking me, "You went to all this trouble for little old me?" And I shake my head and say, "Wrong, because it was no trouble at all." She smiles, and turns to face the front, swaying back and forth with the melody. As she turns around at the end of the song, I'm sitting there, on a pink pony (?) and holding a ring. She takes one look at me, gasps, and looks at me with beautiful wide blue eyes. I get down on one knee, and say, "Brianne, ever since you came into my life, nothing's been the same anymore. I thought I knew everything about myself before I met you, but you discovered parts of me that I didn't know existed. The joy in my life comes from you, watching you sing, smile that shy smile of yours, and your funny little laugh. I need that joy my whole life, and I will make you happy until my dying breath, even if that's what it requires. So, now that I've run out of breath, will you please marry me?"

She smiles, laughing that little laugh of hers, comes over to me, tears freely flowing, and whispers yes as she kisses me. I put the ring on her finger, and she admires it for a minute. It's a black metal ring with a diamond. Little tendrils of the metal wrap around the diamond, making it like a little sun with clouds around it. She is my little sunshine after all. She smiles, kisses me again and says, "We should head back. I need to thank Ananya for her suggestion"

"And what suggestion was that?"

"To wear waterproof makeup...smart idea, huh?"
