"Oh my god, Cady, look! Prom!!" Tessa yelled as she ripped the flyer off of the billboard. "'Seniors, we are glad to announce the 2019 Senior Prom. Tickets will be on sale throughout the week! Bring your friends and dates to the Gatsby Hotel on May 6th! There will be food, fun, dancing, and photos, like any other prom! Be sure to buy your tickets ASAP!'" Tessa read from the flyer.

Mr. Marcus snatched the flyer out of Tessa's hands. "Not for safekeeping, young lady! Get to class!" he said sternly, sticking the flyer back up with a piece of Scotch tape.

Tessa rolled her eyes and placed her hand on Mr. Marcus's right shoulder and squeezed it. She loked like she was about to seduce him. She was wearing a revealing bikini top and short shorts. Completely against the dress code- but Tessa's risky, being the bimbo she is.

"You may want to watch your tone, sir," she said gently, openly flirting with him as she wrapped his right leg with her leg. It looked disgusting. Like Tessa has a boyfriend and she's doing this?!

Mr. Marcus fell for Tessa's trap and shook his leg away. "Of course I will."

Tessa and I eventually went to class though, with Mrs. Melody as our science teacher. She was fun, but Tessa hates Mrs. Melody like the other teachers. She hates Mrs. Melody, especially, because she always seduce the male teachers to get out of her way. But Mrs. Melody is strict with Tessa's hoe-ness.

Mrs. Melody eyed Tessa head to toe and with disgust, handed her a detention note. "An outfit like yours is not even permitted in the halls of Enivel Mada! Ms. Young, how many times have I told you to wear modestly in the schoolgrounds?"

"What's so bad about wearing this? I mean, I'm hot and I want to show it," Tessa laughed. "And if that means a guy staring at me, so be it."

"Ms. Young!" Mrs. Melody glared at her. "Detention! NOW!"

Tessa rolled her eyes and headed to the detention room. Mrs. Melody then greeted me and asked, "Acadia, this is none of my business but as your teacher, I suggest that you should stop hanging out with Tessa. She is a very bad influence," she continued, staring disgustingly at Tessa, who was at the other end of the hallway.

I didn't know what to say to Mrs. Melody but a small shrug of acknowledgement. I went inside the classroom and saw Tessa's boyfriend, Ryan, looking confusingly at me. I sat behind him, as usual. I understood Ryan was looking for his girl.

"Where's Tessa?" he asked.

"Detention," I sighed. "Dress-coded."

"Again?" Ryan sighed, tapping his pencil impatiently. "I'm just getting so- tired of her."

"If you're so 'tired with her', why don't you break up with her?" I asked playfully. Ryan and I were good friends. I have a crush on Ryan, too, actually, but it's a small one because obviously, he's taken by my best friend, Tessa. There's nothing wrong with having a crush on your best friend's boyfriend, right?

"I don't know at this point. Prom's coming- she's being so toxic these days. Manipulating me to skip out on my football games for her lame 'movie nights' and stuff," Ryan rolled his eyes.

"Damn, I'm sorry."

"But I can't just show up to prom without a date."

"You think there's people better than Tessa?" I asked jokingly.

"Maybe," he winked at me. He turned to the front and started writing his science notes as Mrs. Melody continued her lesson on mitosis.

After class, Ryan and I went to find Tessa. She was coming back from detention, sweating and out of breath.

"Ah, BABE!" she squealed, hugging Ryan. "I missed you so much. Let's go to lunch! I have to tell you something but since prom's coming, we need to get matching clothes. If we go too late we'll not have the perfect outfit! Oh, and I already booked an appointment at the most expensive but high demand store! It's from 6-8 pm on Friday! I know you have to cancel your game or whatever, but our relationship comes first!" she jabbered. "I mean, it's only a game, no biggie!"

"No biggie?" Ryan answered back. "Tessa, I didn't sign up for football to cancel all of my games. I'm working for a scholarship! I can't let my buddies down. I already cancelled five games because of our relationship. Can we postpone the shopping till the weekend or some other day I don't have a game?"

"Absolutely NOT, Ryan! I already booked it- remember? Pleaseeee, you can always play after prom is over, y'know," Tessa said in her baby voice.

"But the season will be over-"

"Hold that thought. Anyways, I have to go with Acadia," Tessa eyed me. "Babe, I'll see you at lunch, kay?" She paused and kissed Ryan, grabbing me on the arm and taking me to the bathroom.

"What's the hurry?" I asked.

"I have a doctor's appointment," she said. "During lunch you are to convince Ryan to spend time with me from 6-8 pm because he's not listening. I can't believe he's SO rude! I mean, why did he date me if he doesn't even care about me?"

"I'll try talking to him," I answered. "Are you coming back?"

"Obviously not, school ends in an hour and it takes 30 mins to go to the doctor's," Tessa said. "I'll see you this evening at the park at 5."

I nodded as Tessa smiled and ran towards the exit. I sighed and went to lunch, seeing Ryan sitting alone. Usually, Tessa, me, my friend Cady, Ryan's best friend Jayden (Cady's boyfriend), and Ryan sit together. Today, Cady and Jayden are at drama club practice, so it's just Ryan and I.

"Tessa's not coming again?" Ryan asked confusingly.

"Doctor's appointment," I replied. "Anyways, Ryan, you seem a bit down. Everything's ok?"

"No, it's not," Ryan sighed. "I just want to break up with Tessa at this point. She's literally forcing me to go to prom when I missed 5 freaking games! That's more than half in the season! I can't get kicked out of the team, either. I have my own commitments, too, you know."

"Then break up with her."

"But how?" Ryan asked.

I laughed. Ryan's asking me for advice?

"Give me your phone," I chuckled. I tapped on Tessa's name and texted, "hey tessa i think we should end our relationship... i don't think it will work out. i'm sorry" and showed it to Ryan. He nods in approval and I send it.

Tessa replies with a laughing emoji, "stop joking babe,, remember we're always in love<3 u must be having a bad day,, be sure to talk 2 me if u need anything.. love u 2 the moon :))"

"See?" Ryan groaned.

"Ryan, you already stopped liking Tessa. So, I'd say you're single now." I said.

"Really? But-"

"You texted her many times, you told me you were sick of her, you clearly stopped loving her. Which is OKAY. There's other girls, you know," I smiled.

"Maybe the girl in front of my eyes," he blurted.

"Me?! Ryan-" I said in surprise.

"Acadia, I liked you since a long time." Ryan admitted. "I always wanted to tell you this. I actually did. I think Tessa was with you, and she mistakened that I was talking about her. I had to fall under this miserable trap for almost 7 months- and my silly innocent shy self couldn't get out it. But now, I'm finally confident to say it. Acadia, I love you."

"Ryan, I'm flattered. I must say, I like you too. But Tessa will kill us if she finds out."

"We'll keep it in secret," he winked.

We pinky swore. I can't believe it- I was dating Ryan now? A million thoughts zoomed. Most of them were about how Tessa would react. But at least, I'm dating my crush now.
