~You guys didn't think I wouldn't ever update again, right? I mean especially during #Naceweek. I'm not that cruel...~
To be honest, Bess did get a little lonely sometimes. It's part of the reason she didn't really think through any of the possible consequences when she started falling for Odette. A ghost in George's body. Now, she doesn't regret any of it, and she was grateful for the time she did get with Odette.
But in reality, its really hard to dwell on any of your own personal feelings, when drama, brewing relationships, already formed relationships, and tension was in almost every room your main friend group was in. And that was definitely the Drew Crew.
Sometimes Bess wishes she could be Cupid herself, and bring whoever she wanted together whenever she wanted, because having to wait for people to realize feelings towards each other, or watch as couples go through issues was excruciating.
I mean just watching George and Nick try and work everything out was hard enough. At first she thought maybe they weren't even good for each other. She even told George that. But she knew that wasn't going to stop them, they were both stubborn and determined to make everything they do work. But it was hard when George kept coming to her with relationship advice, and asking how to handle being co-bosses, and how they weren't in sink. Bess was overjoyed after she had caught them kissing in the Claw's office. And even more so after George got closure with Ryan and she and Nick were able to go official.
And then watching them grow all throughout the Aglaeca era of their lives, and learning to work together not only in their business, but as a couple, and to help solve mysteries for Nancy. She almost wished they could switch places and she could be asking for advice about her non-existent relationship... But speaking of Nancy, her love life was the most interesting to observe. Or predict. As her and George had started to do on the side. Right now they had a bet going. They were both sure that Nancy and Ace would eventually get together. But George was sure that Nancy would realize her feelings first, and that it would happen sooner than later. And Bess was sure that Ace would realize them first, but that it would take a long time since he was currently in a relationship. And she was pretty confident she would win, I mean she was his platanchor was she not?
It was almost hard to believe that they didn't at least have some kind of friends with benefits thing going on the side though. But she knew Ace, and that he wouldn't do something like that to Amanda. He was loyal if anything. But so oblivious. To the fact that by staying loyal to Amanda, and keeping Nancy in the friend zone, he was still hurting Amanda, and not being entirely loyal. He didn't have any excuse for why he was always dropping everything to go help Nancy anymore. It was a wonder Amanda hadn't brought it up to him yet. Or maybe she had. Bess certainly would if put in that position.
How could you not. Your boyfriend is paying more attention to his girl best friend than you! I mean big red flag sis. That's what Bess wanted to shout at Amanda everytime she saw her. She kinda felt bad. If Bess was being honest, Amanda was really cute, and she couldn't help but feel she deserved better...and from someone else...
But her own love life could easily be put to the side with all that goes on between Nancy and Ace alone. The fact that they have a private server, Nancy's not so hidden jealousy of Amanda, their exchanged looks, the constant physical contact between the two that gives off more than friends vibes, their shared understanding of each others feelings, like both of them defending each other's reasons for not opening up about something, Bess felt as if she was in one of Tv dramas she loved so much and could write pages of fanfiction just about their relationship. She wished she had someone that knew her that well.
But yes. She was perfectly content to just watch her friends relationships play out. She didn't need one of her own.. No. Plenty of stuff to fill the slowly, growing bigger, hole in her chest, God she was pathetic. And on that note she decided to finally check her online dating profile that she had been avoiding after Odette for any responses.
~I had no idea where I was going with this fanfiction at first. But about halfway through, I decided i wanted to accomplish two things. One, give all of y'all some #Nace, because well that what this collection is all about, but also dive into what I'm sure Bess's character is feeling on the show. She has no current relationship, she's always third wheeling tons of stuff. I almost feel like the show has turned her into comedic relief which is really sad. They abruptly ended her storyline with Lizbeth, they haven't had a Marvin reunion since she was kicked out, and other then having funny lines about her dating profile they haven't had much going on with her. (Yes there was Odette, but again that was something the show just doomed to fail and it wasn't a fully blown love interest.) So I thought I would write this from her POV so we could understand her a little better, and also to fulfill the fourth writing prompt for #Naceweek on Tumblr.~

Nancy Drew and Ace one-shots
FanficJust a collection of Nace stories to tide me over until season three. The season 2 finale actually hurt me and pushed me to the point of needing to not only read, but write my own fanfiction for them. So here they are, some cheesy, some not so much.
