Jade

I moved to New York right after high school. I had to get out of LA. Well, it's been only a year since I left, but I've never been better in my life. I've had so many more acting opportunities in New York as well. You would think there would be more in LA, but surprisingly none for me.

I'm back visiting LA this week, mostly to see Beck, Cat and Andre. I honestly don't care if I see Robbie or not. I'll be somewhat happy to see him, but I don't really care if I see him or not.

The four of us met at Nozu, the Sushi place we used to all hang out with. Memories (some good, some bad, but mostly bittersweet) flooded my mind when I stepped in.

"Jade! Over here!" Beck called once he saw that I walked in. I ran over and gave them all big hugs.

"Aw. I didn't realize how much I missed you guys!" I said.

"Well, Jade West. You've changed." said Andre, referring to my hair that was brown again and my different style.

"I had to take on a more likable appearance and personality to get parts. So here I am."

"Jade! I've missed you so much! I'm so glad you're home!" Cat gave me another big hug.

"How's babysitting going?" I asked. "How's Sam?"

"She'll be here later this week. She went back to Seattle to visit her friend Carly and her brother Spencer. And of course Freddie." Cat said taking her seat.

We all talked for a while. They talked about how Robbie is off at some tech school in another state and was sorry he couldn't make it. Andre was talking about his music career, producing music for a new artist who remained nameless.

We were there for hours, having a great time. But there was one thing I'm sad but also glad we didn't talk about.

Then all of a sudden, Andre got up and went over to someone I guess he knew. I tried to listen to what they were saying.

"Uh...no. She can't come in here. Just...stop her, please?" Stop who? Why?

I heard the door open, and the place went silent, then everyone went crazy. I looked at Beck and Cat's faces, and their faces looked nervous, purely terrified if you will.

It was her.

"Tori Vega?"

"Jade West?"

The sight of her hit me so hard. Like a hurricane. Thunder. Lightning. But the sight of her smile also made the whole place light up.

She ran to me, arms out, her purse hitting the floor as she pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.

"I...I thought I's never see you again." She said as I smiled at her. She blushed. Beck, Cat and Andre still looked scared, like something was going to happen.

"How are you?" I asked her.

"I'm awesome! I can't believe you're home and didn't tell me!" She sounded more happy than hurt.

"Uh...I was going to tell you...but I just got in this morning. Got my rental car and came right here. This was kind of a last minute trip." I explained. I didn't know if I was going to tell her I was here. I didn't know what it would be like to see her after...what happened on the last day of school. But I am going to be here for two weeks. SO I was probably going to tell her. I melted at the smile that was taking over her face.

"Jade I can't believe you're here!" She said again, crushing me in a hug again. And the hug felt right. Shit. That shouldn't be how it is. I have a boyfriend home in New York. We've been going out for about 4 months now.

But the hug felt unexplainably right. This time, I hugged her back. For a long time.
