Jade

I wondered how long I was lost in thought. I hadn't thought about that day in a long time. But finally Cat took me out of my mess of a head.

"Jade. What are you thinking about?" She asked me. I knew they all had an idea about what I had on my mind.

"Hey, guys." Tori said. "God. I hate meet and greets!"

"Why? You get to meet your biggest fans!" Cat asked.

"Oh, yes. 'You get to meet your biggest fans!'-" Tori imitated Cat on that part- "The same damn people I've met at least 5 times that are creepy, constantly DM me and STALK ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA!"

"Calm down, Tor. You should just stop scheduling them if you hate them this much." Beck tried to help.

"It's not me, it's my manager, damn it." She sat down on the bench next to me and I slid over to give her more room.

"Tori, I've never heard you curse this much in my life!" I said to her.

"Well, it's my new favorite thing to do." She answered sarcastically. "Being even semi-famous takes a serious toll on you. You think you would get lots of money, get a huge mansion, a nice car, a hot...significant other, a perfect family, going out to parties, being a role model...just an all around perfect life! But it's not that simple. Maybe I never should have signed with a stupid label."She blew a few strands of hair out of her face. Her beautiful, barely a day over 18 looking face.

"Bit you did what you thought would be best for you." Andre told her. "I made my decision based on what was going to be best for me."

"Well, you can't un-famous yourself..." Cat thought out loud.

"CAT!" Beck, Andre and I yelled at her. Tori just put her head down on the table.

I know I was probably not anywhere near close enough to her in her mind to comfort her, but I did anyway. I put my arm around her and she sat up but a second later buried her head into my neck and cried. I can'r believe she actually let me comfort her. It doesn't make sense. I was the one who left her life suddenly chasing better job opportunities in a cit across the country as we were just starting to get close. Just as I finally admitted to her...told her what I wanted to say for her whole 3 years at Hollywood Arts

Then her body guards or security guards or whatever you want to call them shooed the fans off. We were tucked away in a corner so people couldn't really see us.

"Ms. Vega? They're all gone. want to head back home?" One guy asked as they finally found us.

"No thanks, Derek. I'm going to stay here with my friends." She told him.

"Alright then." He turned to look at us, then put his eyes on me. "Take care of her." and headed out the door.

"You guys close or something?" I asked Tori.

"Sure. He takes his job seriously."

--------------------------

We hung out at the restaurant for about 2 more hours talking before we all got tired and Tori offered to have us all over.

"Nah. Don't worry about it. I'm just going to find some motel to stay in." I told her as we were walking out the door.

"Ew. Motel? I have room in my house, Jade." She said to that.

Then she smiled, and the hurricane came back. I felt my face blush slightly and the rest of the world was rainy except her. I felt like I had been hit so hard. Are my old feelings coming back? That question made me a bit salty thinking about it.

The 5 of us were hanging out at Tori's place (which was smaller than I thought) until about midnight. She looked tired, and I guess I was too because I could barely hold my eyes open. I had a long day of travelling.

I guess I had dozed off because Tori was tapping my shoulder and saying my name over and over again. I woke up to see no one else around, just us.

"Where'd everyone go?" I asked.

"They all went home." She replied. "Do you want to sleep in my room and I'll sleep on the couch?"

"No. Never. I'm going to sleep on the couch because You already are letting me, Jade West, stay at your house. I'm the girl who...was becoming your friend after so many years and then suddenly just left. I'm a terrible person." I blurted. I didn't want to say all of that!

"Jade, you did what was best for yourself, moving to New York.  I don't hate you for it like you think I do! I never did." She told me softly. "Now I'm going to go to sleep.

With that she got up, kissed me on the cheek, and went to her room.
