"So what are you then? If not a ghost?" I asked, watching as Jahseh's eyes darted quickly across the room, most likely trying to find an exit out of this conversation, or at least a way to avoid my question.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out, eventually," Was his response, and with that he turned around on his heel and walked out of my room.

"Damn, you're just gonna walk off on me like that?" I called out.

"Yeah!" Jahseh yelled back, and soon the apartment was dead quiet again, not a sound, nor did I feel that staticky air.

That was what confirmed Jahseh's being or state or... whatever he was, to me. Him being a ghost or whatever. The thick air proved it. He pointed out the fact that I made an agreement with whatever I thought was in the house. It was him, he'd been the one I made an agreement with. Why else would he bring it up? I felt that staticky air. The slight pressure on my chest, the stuffy feeling, when he was around. That must have been a telltale sign of when Jahseh was there.

Now, I couldn't feel that staticky feeling.

I got up and looked all around the apartment, seeing no sign of Jahseh, proving my theory.

He was gone.

It was kind of a slap in the face to find out that Jahseh was... whatever he was. Certainly not human, if he was able to invoke that kind of chilling feeling or conjure so much energy into the air. He made it clear that the red brick dust wasn't going to work on him, meaning that he wasn't going to hurt me, nor did he have any malice intent towards me. It didn't mean that he was a benevolent being, it just meant that he had no will or means to hurt me.

At least, for now.

That also explained how he left the apartment just now without a sound.

It was definitely a lot to think about, but not something I wanted to think about right now, I'd had a long today and it was pretty fucking draining.

With content that Jahseh wasn't somewhere in the house, I changed into my pajamas and crawled into bed, pushing my curious thoughts away as I attempted to fall asleep.

"I'm not even sure what the hell to do with this shit." Ximena huffed in frustration, slapping her hands down on the desk space in front of her and rolling her eyes violently.

"It's not hard, it's an essay," I responded.

"'It's not hard-' shut up." She mocked my voice. "You try writing a five page fucking essay on commas for fuck's sakes."

"Not commas." I let out a laugh. "The importance of punctuation."

"I can write all that shit within a page, what the hell am I stretching it five pages for?" She groaned. Ximena was definitely making it more than it had to be, it was a simple assignment that could be finished in no time if she didn't sit here and keep complaining about it.
