This story takes place in an AU where Loki didn't die in Infinity War so... yeah!

Your POV:

Me and Loki sat quietly on the couches in the common room of the complex. Everyone was out on a mission except us, so we were alone. He was reading a book, and I was scrolling through tiktok with my headphones in. I glanced up a few times to watch him read. It was rare to see him look peaceful, but this was one of those moments. I had begun to be bored by my mindless scrolling, so I went and sat down next to him. "Hello y/n," he said without look up from his book.

"Hello Loki," I responded, "What are you reading?" I examined the book earlier. The cover was red, and the spine was black with some gold to tell the title and author.

"It is an Asgardian book. It's from one of the libraries that was in the palace. I spared a few from Ragnarok, but I don't have many. I only grabbed the ones I cherish deeply." He sadly smiled at me.

"Wow, this book has to be ancient." My eyes widened, and I traced my fingers along the spine. "Would you like to read to me?" I asked him.

"It's in Asgardian, but I'll translate for you," he said. I rested my head on his shoulder as he began to read aloud. He spoke softly and slowly as he was making sure to translate the words to English properly. His voice was calming, and I felt my eyelids grow heavy.

Loki POV:

I read to y/n for about 30 minutes before I felt her head fall off my shoulder. I realized she had fallen asleep. "Y/n, darling?" I whispered, but she did not stir. I continued to read to myself until I began to grow tired as well. I put my book down and gently twirled her soft hair. I knew I was about to fall asleep, and the sun had just gone down. I conjured a blanket around the two of us and allowed myself to surrender to sleep.

I awoke as the sun was rising. She was still lying next to me. I watched her breath peacefully for a moment. Eventually her eyelids fluttered open, and she sat up. "Did I fall asleep on you?" She asked.

"You did, my reading sent you right off," I chuckled a bit.

"Oh my gosh, that's embarrassing," she said and looked down at the ground. I turned her chin up with my finger, and her gaze met mine. It was then I noticed the rosy blush that covered her face.

Your POV:

I stared at Loki and felt my cheeks burning up. I hope the blush wasn't too obvious to him. "You have no need to be embarrassed darling," he reassured me. He tenderly swept my messy hair behind my ear. It only made me blush even harder. "You're blushing," he told me with a smirk.

"I know I'm blushing Loki," I said. I put my hands over my face. "I probably look a mess too right now, since I just woke up." I shook my head and began to get up. Loki grabbed my hand before I could leave though.

"You look as lovely as you always do. In fact, you may even look better right now than I've ever seen you."

"You're just playing. You don't need to charm me with your tricks Loki," I laughed.

"I'm not joking y/n," he brought a hand to my cheek which must've been crimson at this point, "You are breathtaking." I leaned in and kissed him softly. He held my waist in his arms, and I ran my fingers through his hair.

"Promise this isn't a trick?" I asked one more time pulling away.

"I swear on the last of the books I have from Asgard." He pulled me into another kiss.
