Your POV:

Me and Bucky walked through the halls of the Hydra facility. Neither of us said a word, and all that one could hear was the faint noise of our foot steps on the cold linoleum floor. Occasionally, we would hear the voices of others echoing off the walls. He protectively put his arm over my chest and checked ahead to make sure there was no danger. He usually wasn't so cautious of me, but lately when we had been put together on missions he had grown anxious for my well-being. I didn't mind it though. I found it sweet that he cared to protect me. Eventually we heard voices again. This time they came from around a corner. He went to look for a second and then came back. "Another false alarm?" I said. Bucky slapped his hand over my mouth and shook his head.

"No! Shit, run!" He whisper-yelled to me. We began to run down the corridors, and the sound of Hydra agents steps grew closer. They knew we were here, and they were following us. Suddenly I felt Bucky pull me into a small closet. There was no light, and I could hardly make out his figure in the darkness.

"I'm so sorry Buck. I didn't mean to get us caught. I just assumed since we've had so many wrong calls-" I spewed. He placed his hands on my shoulders gently.

"Y/n, calm down. I'm not mad at you. I'm just scared you'll get hurt, okay?" Even though it was so dark, I could still feel his eyes staring straight through me. I nodded my head. We heard more footsteps approaching and stopped talking. Finally they passed far enough for me to speak again.

"Bucky why?" I asked.

"Why what?" He hissed. I could tell he was still on edge from the passing agents.

"Why do you care so much about me all of the sudden? It's not that I don't appreciate it, but it's just abrupt." He looked at me, but said nothing. All I could hear was his heavy breathing filling the closet. The space that we had seemed to be growing smaller and smaller. Then a man's voice yelled out without warning.

"The winter soldier is here, boys. Come out 'soldat!'" He taunted. Sounds of gunshots ricocheted off of the metal the building was made of. Bucky took my hand and led us out of the closet. We ran until we left the facility, which took a while because of the twisting halls that were reminiscent of a maze. He heaved as he talked into his ear piece.

"Mission failed. Too many agents. We will require backup to continue." His earpiece clicked, and we trudged through the snowy landscape where the base had been located. Once finally back on the quinjet, I decided to question him further about his protective attitude.

"So, can we continue where we left off?" I glanced at him while he piloted the ship. "Switch to autopilot Bucky. I want your full attention." He pressed a few buttons and swiveled in his seat to face me.

"You have my undivided attention," he said while shrugging.

"Good, but you never answered my question. Why have you been so protective of me lately?" He scratched his neck.

"I don't know y/n. We've been doing missions with each other for a while now. I guess I just don't want my partner to get hurt. Don't get me wrong, I know you can carry yourself. You're an amazing fighter. Honestly, you could beat me in a fight, but if I can I'd like to keep you uninjured. I care about you." A blush spread onto his cheeks.

"Wow Bucky, that's, really sweet," I said to him. I hugged him tightly. "Now I feel bad for not being super protective of you."

"Don't be, that's why I've got this arm. Specially made for protecting pretty things like you."
