Now - Druig

AN: couldn't find any Druig fics so here I am months later lolz

You are an eternal. Your powers include the ability to control animals, speak to them, and transform into them.

Your POV: After the fight on the beach, I had attempted to build a life for myself, but I had sadly failed. Instead I fell back into an old habit of shapeshifting and living wherever for short periods of time. Right now, being a bird felt right, so that's what I had been doing. It was nice to fly all day, to pass the time, and not think about what had been plaguing my mind for the past months. All I could think about was Druig. I had almost gotten over him when it came time to save the world, but seeing him again just made me fall for him all again. I missed everything about him. Now, having flown the coop (no pun intended) I had no idea where he was, or if he even wanted to be with me. But today, when flying something had happened. My mind had felt overtaken, and I began to fall from the sky. Before I hit the ground, I transformed back into my normal form. "Ouch!" I yelped as my head hit dirt.

"That's what you get for flying over land that doesn't belong to you." I recognized that voice, it was him. I looked up and saw his hand outreached to pull me up "Hey there y/n."

"Hello Druig, in my defense I didn't know you were living here." I looked around at my surroundings. It was nothing notable. Just a small cabin in the forest. Comfy and nice. "It's cute," I gestures towards his cottage.

"Thanks, built it with my own mind and a few people who have no memory of doing so." He laughed. I rolled my eyes at him.

"I would've employed the help of squirrels." I joked. He led me inside his home, and poured a cup of tea for each of us. "How have you been?"

"I've been good. I like the solitude I've found out here, I've always liked the peacefulness of nature. Though it gets a little lonely sometimes. What about you?"

"Ehh I've been okay. I told myself I'd start living like a person, but it's much easier to be a bird." He smiled at me. "What?"

"It's funny that thousands of years don't change you. You're still the same y/n I met on that ship so long ago. I'm glad."

"You haven't changed either. You still care about this silly little planet don't you?"

"Course I do. There's something special about it, like Sersi said."

"There is isn't there? It's pure in a way, almost like they're clueless. I've always admired the way they love. They fall so deeply and will go to the greatest lengths for it."

"Yeah..." the lull in the conversation hung in the air. I looked at my feet to try and distract myself from the silence. He broke it first though.

Druig's POV:
An awkward quiet had filled the space. She was looking down but I was staring straight at her. "Y/n stay here, with me. We could live here just you and me. You can transform as you please, and we can keep each other company. I've really missed you over all this time."

"I'd love to, I thought you didn't want to be around me." She said. I can't believe she would think that. I guess the crush I had on her for so long had manifested in my awkwardness around her. This time though, I won't let her go without knowing how I feel.

"Can I be honest with you?" I asked, she nodded yes. "Back when we all went out separate ways, I was gonna ask you to come with me. I scared myself out of it though because I thought you wouldn't wanna spend lifetimes with me." She had begun to blush, and in that moment I saw how effortlessly beautiful she was. I reached over to hold her hand.

"That's so sweet. I wish you would've because I would've said yes. We can't go back now though, so let's be happy we can be here now right?" Our eyes met and I leaned in to kiss her. She met my lips with hers.

"Right." I said and kissed her again.
