The breeze feels nice as I jump from rooftop to rooftop. I wanted to enjoy the nice weather, so I decided to run to the Hokage tower. Thinking back to my summon I frown slightly. A vague order from the Hokage isn't unusual, but this one made me nervous. Getting closer to the Hokage tower, I finally teleport into the Hokage's room. As I arrive I get down on one knee, bowing.
"Ah, Ana. I was expecting you later." I keep my eyes on the ground as the Hokage talks to me, noticing immediately another presence in the room.
"I was informed it was urgent milord," I answer quietly, trying to avoid glancing over at the other person in the room.
"Yes, well. No matter now, please stand. Meet Kakashi." His voice is deep, as he takes a puff of his pipe. My eyes widen at the name, of course.
"Milord, Kakashi, and I have already met," I explain, finally glancing over at the said man, wondering why he needs to see us both. Kakashi wasn't a part of the ANBU anymore.
"Oh, right. Anyways, I have a mission for you." He smiles at me before turning his attention to Kakashi. "Kakashi, the rest of what I have to tell you goes hand in hand with Ana's mission." He looks at me with a wide eye, what could the two have to do with each other?
"So to start, take off your mask, Kiana." My eyes widened as he not only used my real name; but told me to remove my mask. Glancing over at a stoic Kakashi, I sigh and remove my mask, closing my right eye as if I didn't have my eye patch and haven't been without my mask in front of people in a while. "Great. Kiana, meet your new sensei Kakashi." I turn to look at Kakashi to see his eyes widen.
"But milor-" I start, not believing what I'm hearing.
"No more of that, you have to address me as Hokage. I am assigning you at this time as the newest team member of Team Kakashi."
"Four kids to look after Lord Hokage?" The Hokage laughs deeply at Kakashi's question.
"Well, still three Kakashi, my plans for Kiana are not to be a student. She is going to be helping you Kakashi."
"I'm afraid I don't follow, Lord Hokage." I finally say, confused about my role in this mission. And also hope to have this meeting go by faster as having my eye closed is starting to tire me out. I haven't had to do it in years.
"I need you to blend in with the kids your age, and participate in the team like everyone else. But you are to be secretly keeping a sharp eye on Naruto. Your skills are why I chose you, as well as your age of course. You need to blend in with your peers, as well as harnessing your skills to protect Naruto. You are not to let anyone know where you are from or your skill level. You will be introduced as a new member to our village." I look to Kakashi to see the shock on his face.
"What makes you think I do not have the skills to protect him on my own?" Kakashi asks, hurt evident in his voice.
"Oh, I know you can Kakashi. But someone more his age will be around a lot more than you would be. I recently got some news, and I must do everything I can do to protect him. Are we in an understanding?"
Kakashi and I look to each other before looking to the Hokage and nodding. Well, Kakashi nods, I bow.
"Good. Go change, you meet your team in thirty at the academy." I nod before using a teleportation jutsu to bring myself to my apartment.
The first thing I did once I got to the apartment was find my eye patch, putting it over my right eye. Which feels much better. I hide my mask in my nightstand; and change into my normal ninja gear. A black cropped sweatshirt with no hood, black ninja pants with mesh covering part of my tights, I wrap bandages over the mesh on my right thigh and put my weapon pouch there. Throwing on my ninja sandals, I sigh looking at myself in the mirror. Not my favorite, but not horrible either. I throw my hair up into a loose bun, pulling some of my front hair out, I make sure my eye patch is on right and start my walk to the academy.
