I could tell that someone was watching me. I could feel the eyes boring onto my warm black coat. The tree that I was lying on rubbed against my warm back, though I didn't really care. I didn't dare open my eyes, for I knew that doing so would cause panick to the Prince and his friend. I just continued to calm myself down. I knew that would mean that my life would be in more danger than it was already in.
"Don't you think that we should head back before she realises that we're here?" I heard a nervous whisper. I peeked through my eyelids to see who had spoken. It was the Prince's friend, though I didn't know what his name was. I could tell that he didn't like being this close to a wolf that was alive.
"I don't think she will. Look how happy she looks." The Prince spoke carefully, trying not to disturb me. What they didn't know was that wolves had excellent hearing. I guess they figured that we do, though, because I saw the Prince motion to be quiet.
"I still think we should head back. Isn't that Prince from the next country coming today? As well as the king?" His friend insisted. I heard the far off beat of horse shoes on gravel, and figured that it was the carridge with the Prince. I didn't want to tell them that I could hear that, though I don't know how I could.
"Yeah. Lets go, then." The Prince mumbled, clearly unhappy. I jerked my leg, waiting for them to leave. I wanted to follow them to make sure that they arrived safley back at the palace. I knew that there were all sorts of dangers out in the jungle, and I didn't want them injured.
I heared the soft whinny of the horses and knew that the Prince and his friend were riding back. I quickly jogged to catch up. My feet barely made a sound as they pattered through the forrest to catch up and hide from the Prince.

Shiver and wire happily cantered the way back to the palace. I knew that the King from the next country over was bringing his son to meet me. They were preparing some sort of arangment, the King and my father, though I knew nothing of it. I wanted to meet the Prince and see what he was like, to make sure that he was a good fellow and liked the palace we lived in. Afterall, he would be here for about three weeks.
I saw the carridge as soon as I came into view of the horses in the paddock. There were two new horses grazing, and I realised that they were off the carridge, pulling it here. I slowed to a trot as we exited the paddock through the gate, then walked into the stables. I could see a man standing next to a stable. He looked to be about eighteen. My age, really.
He looked at me, admiring the horse that I was riding. I dismounted calmly before leading my mare into her stall. She was looking at the young man with a strong glare, and I almost laughed. I had never known my horse to be so strange around someone, let alone someone my age.
The young man walked over to me. I could tell that he was about to introduce himself. I held out my hand and announced that I was Prince Samual. I don't think that he realised that I was the prince, as he looked taken aback. Yet he took my hand.
"Prince Alexander." He announced boldly. I nodded calmly as I continued to take the tack off my horse. She whickered to the man, looking him from head to toe. I didn't actually know why Shiver was taking such an interest in the man, but she was. It was as though she thought he might be a threat.
"I was actually told by your father that you, me and Ben should head out for a ride. And I'm guessing that man over there is Ben. Shall you tack your horse up while I fetch my horse?" He asked with a British sounding accent. He was very posh, and I knew that by the way he held his head. It was as though he though himself higher than me, the one who lived here and was the Prince.
"Of course, Alexander. I would be honered to show you the place." But not the forrest, I added mentally. I didn't want the Prince to see what the forrest had in it, because I could just tell that he was the kind of person to take in a hunt if he saw a wolf. My wolf, I thought.
I shivered internally at the thought that someone would or could hurt my wolf. I mean, it's not as though I know her, but she's so pretty and unlike other wolves. She'd be a prise for the entire town and the next one over, and I just couldn't let that happen.
I looked over to where the Prince was standing. Alexander stood looking at a huge black horse. The stallion continued to stare at him. It was as though there was an unspoken communication going on between the two creatures. I didn't want to disturb them, so I just continued with Shiver. I untacked her, so that I could brush the sweat off her and then retack her. She was very hot from the chase that we had, but other than that, she was fine. I put some water on her legs, just to make sure that she wouldn't get sore when going for another ride.
Finally, Alexander and the huge black stallion were in a stall after about ten minutes of the silent communication that they do. I didn't understand what happened but the horse walked into the stall without a lead rope. Shiver does that, but I haven't known a single other horse to do so. So much trust in that one horse.
Ben walked over after untacking, washing and retacking Wire. He gave me a 'where are we going with him' sort of look. I shrugged. I wasn't sure about that myself, really. All I knew was that we weren't going to the forrest.
"Ready to go?" Alexander asked, grabbing a bow and arrow from his chest.
