Cherish This Moment (Kyo x Yuki Fruits Basket)

Wait.. What?!

It was a fine, sunny, summer day when Yuki Sohma was getting ready for school in the morning, he always had trouble waking up in the morning so he was extremely tired like usual. It led to him being a little clumsy in the mornings so when he tied up his tie it wasn't fully straight and his silver-ish, grey hair was all messy. Yuki was 16 years old, had greyish-purple eyes (they'd changed depending on the time of day) and was quite average in height at 5 foot 7, there were over 100 people in the Sohma family but there were 13 special Sohma's, the ones possessed by the zodiac spirits. Yuki was one of them, to be more specific he was the rat. This meant that when someone of the opposite gender hugged him he would transform into his zodiac animal and that they can attract their respective animal and call them when needed, it had only ever happened once in front of people though but they all had to get their memories altered.

"NONE OF THE ZODIAC MEMBERS ARE TO BE SEEN TRANSFORMED BY OTHERS OUTSIDE THE FAMILY."

Those words still make Yuki shiver, he inhaled sharply and put his hands on his head, those memories were coming back to him. 'Make it stop... Make it stop Yuki... Yuki... Yuki...'

"Yuki! There's someone here!" a voice called out to him, it was Shigure Sohma, the dog spirit who was also Yuki's cousin and elder. Yuki wasn't actually expecting anyone to be there so he was a little confused as to who could be there. He grabbed his blue bag and walked down the stairs rubbing his head softly, when he looked up a girl was standing there looking at the zodiac figurines Shigure had left out. That girl was Tohru Honda, she was in Yuki's class, 1-D and he hadn't really spoken to her before, he only vaguely knew of her name.

"Oh? Miss Honda, what are you doing here?" Yuki said, perking his head up slowly to meet her gaze.

"Oh! Sohma, I didn't know you lived here, who's this?" she said, pointing at Shigure

Yuki groaned slightly "This... This is my older cousin, Shigure Sohma."

Shigure and Yuki didn't have any issues with each other but Shigure was a pervert when it came to high school girls, so Yuki tried to hurry the conversation along so that Shigure didn't start pulling anything weird around Honda.

Shigure laughed "If Yuki has you over, here again, we are going to get along very well, yes~" he smirks softly, just like the pervert he is

Yuki smacked Shigure upside the head and yelled at him "We do NOT act like that around people!" The grey-haired boy was worried that Honda-san might think that he was weird, which was not the case at all.

Those words clouded Yuki's mind but he tried to ignore those words whilst he was around Tohru. I guess he just wanted to seem normal for her, not that he thought anything more of her than just a classmate.

Tohru checked the time and squealed "Ah! I'm going to be late for school!!" she grabbed her bag and was ready to rush out the door but Yuki stopped her.

"Miss Honda, let's go to school together, we're in the same class after all." Yuki smiled softly at her and started to walk "Well, let's go."

Tohru hadn't walked to school with anyone before, let alone the most popular boy in their year, everybody loved Yuki and all the girls tried to ask him out on dates and receive kisses, there was even a rumour going around that Yuki had shoved a girl away from him when she tried to hug him, Honda didn't actually know whether that was true or not but she didn't feel a connection to Yuki in a way the other girls did.

The school had come into view and the pair had walked in late, which made all the girls very suspicious since Yuki (dubbed as 'The Prince') was NEVER late to school. When Yuki had gotten into class he sat down in his usual seat, which happened to be a few seats away from Tohru. She sat down and just tried not to think about what had happened to her mother not too long ago, Tohru was living in a tent not too far away from Yuki's home and she hoped that he didn't find it or he would for sure hate her.
