Drunken Texts Part I

Cas was at the bunker waiting for the hunters to return from their hunt. However, when he heard the door open, he turned with a smile that instantly drooped. "Where's Dean?"

"He stopped at a bar. Said he was feeling 'frisky,'" Sam said. Cas' frown deepened. Dean hadn't been with a woman since. . . God, Cas couldn't remember when.

"Is he going to be home tonight?" he asked.

Sam laughed heartily. "Probably not, buddy." With the last word he clapped Cas on the back and started walking to his own bedroom.

"Where are you going?" Cas asked. "Are you feeling. . . 'frisky' too?" He put air quotes around 'frisky'.

Sam chuckled again. "No, I'm going to bed. You might not need sleep, but I sure do. And lots of it."

Cas nodded, gaze lowering. Since he did not require sleep, he decided to wait for Dean to return (even if he had to wait all night).

He was about 35 minutes into his waiting when his phone buzzed. He'd only recently gotten a phone at Dean's request. He had a text. It read:

Now why would Dean text him something like that? Obviously it was meant for someone else. Cas typed a quick response.

Dean, did you send this to the wrong number?

Dean responded within seconds of delivery, as though he had been waiting for an answer.

nope ;)

Dean, this is rather unexpected.

really? i thought we had a 'profound bond'?

Well, I would say we do. I just didn't think that you also felt this way.

It was too late before Cas realized what he had said. Shit! he thought. Now Dean would know how he felt. He sat and waited anxiously for Dean's response, and he didn't have to wait long.

Cas, baby, ive always known you were special

Oh my God, Cas thought. His phone doesn't have auto correct and he still capitalized my name! Does that make me. . . actually special? Does he mean it?

Do you mean it?

Dean's response was almost instantaneous.
