she was beautiful, yet the world kept telling her otherwise
their sharp words cut her skin like knives
and then they blamed her for feeling down
for hating her face and body, for wanting to fit the stereotype

she did everything to be worthy of their like
she hid her dull eyes and faked every smile
they said 'it's better now' yet she was never enough
they stained her pink cheeks with tears and blood

there were scars inside her telling a story nobody cared about
the story of a girl who just wanted to be loved
she had carved its brutal ending into her arms
and left the world peacefully during the night
