Jake assisted Madison and her family with gathering a few supplies for their journey. Just the basics. Things we could afford to share. He told me that despite Troy's abhorrent objection, Jake was going to try to get the family to come back to the ranch with us. A chance at peace. I left Jake to sort out that aspect of Troy's mess, while I patched up the other part. The ocean blue eye closed shut from the swelling. His eye had seen better days, but we are lucky that no nerves or ligaments were severed when Madison jammed that spoon into his eye.

Troy sat on the counter while I fiddled with some supplies. I could feel him staring me down, but not willing to say anything. I was the first to break the silence.

"Troy, put your head over the sink. I need to rinse your eye." My tone was very cold and emotionless, as I didn't want him to know how upset with him I was. This time was the only time he has not hesitated to do what he is told. He knows how pissed I am. He quickly moved from his spot on the counter to the sink. I used a saline solution to rinse his eye and remove the majority of the blood. The way he was gripping the edges of the sink was a strong indicator of how uncomfortable he was. When I was finished I gave him a towel to wipe his face so I could put a dressing over it. He walked back over to the counter, where he was initially sitting, as I gathered some antibacterial, gauze and tape. Setting the supplies next to him, I once again stood in between his legs, but determined not to let it turn into another 'compromised situation' as Troy likes to call them. I put a substantial amount of antibacterial on my finger and lifted my arm to spread it over the cut under his eye. Troy's hand made its way to my wrist, stopping me before I reached his face. The other gripped firmly onto my waist.

"Davina." I could tell that he wanted to discuss his research and what I witnessed down in that basement.

"No, Troy. I really don't feel like getting into it right now. Just let me do my job." I was surprised by how exhausted my voice sounded.

His eyes flashed a tinge of sadness, before hardening to stone. His hand at my waist tightened its grip slightly before letting go entirely. Just as I was placing a final piece of tape over the gauze, a blaring alarm system sounded. I met Troy's eye, the lines in my forehead crinkle confusion.

"Walkers." He said, tight-lipped.

The doors to the infirmary burst open, revealing Blake's panicked state.

"They are here. Hundreds. We have to go. Now."

I pull a duffel bag from a drawer nearby, and start loading any medical supply I deemed important. Antibiotics, suture kits, pain meds, antiseptics, gauze, IV supplies. Once loaded, I handed it off to Blake and told him to load it onto one of the trucks. We quickly made our way from the infirmary to the loading docs, where the majority of our people were loading supplies, cutting down walkers as we went. There was a helicopter on the north end of the lot and the majority of our trucks on the south end.

Troy and Blake made their way to the trucks, packing everything they could as quickly as possible. Militia men piled onto these trucks, and Troy signaled them to head out. Tires squealed as they tore out of the lot. I scanned the lot and everyone was accounted for, except Willy and Steve. Maybe they made it out on the first truck, not that I really gave two shits about what happens to either of them.

A ripple of screams came from the north west end of the lot. I could see that Madison and her family were being circled by over a dozen walkers. Travis, Madison and Nick were attempting to fend off the walkers as Alicia struggled to carry Luciana, the girl that Nick came here with.

I ran toward them, using my katana to mow down walkers as I went. Nearby, I could see Jake and another woman prepping the helicopter to evacuate. Knowing I needed to get them to the helicopter, I directed orders to the family.
