You walked into the coffee shop, Troye following closely behind you. You both went to the counter, ordering your respective drinks. It was around afternoon time, a few minutes after you'd both gotten out of your last class.
"I can't decide if I want to order this dress or try and find it in the store," Troye said to you. It was a normal day, normal conversation, "If I order it, I have to pay shipping. But if I try and find it, I only have to pay gas money." She explained.
You picked a place to sit, pulling the leather jacket off your shoulders, draping it over the back of the seat. "Mm," you hummed, sitting down, "But if you go in the store, you can always try it on and if you find something better, you can get that instead." You advised, putting your bag in the chair beside you as Troye picked the seat in front of you.
"Good point," She mumbled, looking down at her phone, "And if I go... I can make you come with me." She grinned at you, pressing a few buttons, "Since you accepted an invite to your boyfriend's little get together without asking."
"He's not even my boyfriend, we're just talking-..."
The sound of your voice was drowned out in the cafe, the sounds of other people's conversations meshing together, along with the loud blenders and appliances within the coffee shop.
One girl in particular, she was seated at a booth with someone who looked like her brother, another who was lanky and hunched over in front of a blonde girl with a greek-like nose, they were having a conversation that she obviously wasn't interested in. Her judgemental eyes scanned around the cafe, landing directly on your table.
First, she'd looked at Troye, slowly panning down to where you were sitting. She tilted her head to the side, pointing her finger so low only her table could see.
"Is that an Eldian jacket...?" She asked the group, cutting off whoever was speaking, "Who's name does it say on the patch? Can you see it?"
The blonde-haired girl glanced behind herself, squinting at the patch on the arm. "Yeager," She turned back to her, her eyes widening. "Soph, don't do something you're gonna regret..." Her voice was soft, so quiet and monotone it seemed impossible for her warning to get to the girl in time.
But alas, the girl just sat back in her seat, tugging her phone from her pocket.
"I haven't seen their around their safehouse, I don't think she's an Eldian--"
"Shut up, Bertolt." She said to him, immediately going to the Instagram app. If she needed to find out who you were, she knew she could rely on Eren's Instagram to be public and her profile to be unblocked. Of course, she was right. She clicked on his following, scrolling through the dozens of usernames.
You looked up at the barista who'd walked your drinks to your table, giving them a kind smile. "Thank you," You said, letting them place the drink in front of you, placing Troye's usual Ristretto Blonde Latte down in front of her. You were oblivious to the group of people staring at the back of your head until Troye looked behind you at them.
