"Do you really remember me?"

Zelda was looking at him, her eyes begging him to say a word, any word. His mouth formed the words, but no sound escaped from his lips. Instead, he threw his sword down, sprinted to Zelda, and gave her the biggest, longest hug in the world.

Zelda laughed, her eyes bright. "I'll take that as a yes!" When Link finally stepped away, he could see how badly of a shape she was in. Her dress was dirty, her hair was tangled, and her face showed every sign of exhaustion. Without any hesitation, he grabbed her hand and helped her onto his horse. As he climbed on, he noticed how sad Zelda looked beyond her mask of weariness. That broke his heart, but he didn't show it. Instead, he took his horse at a canter from Hyrule Field to the quaint village of Hateno.

By the time they had arrived at his house, Zelda was asleep. Link dismounted his horse and took Zelda to his guest room. He gently set her down and covered her with a soft blanket. Then, he contacted the new "champions" on his Shiekah slate.

Link: Is everyone online? -Sidon, Yunobo, Teba, and Riju reacted: 👍-

Link: Ok. We need to cancel party tonight.

Sidon: WHYYYY

Yunobo: But Zelda's coming!

Teba: 🦅➡😭

Link: I know, but she passed out on the ride home.

Riju: Ok. Can we reschedule for 8:00 tomorrow?

Link: Sure.

Teba: 🥳🥳🥳

Meanwhile, Link started to cook dinner. He was making Mushroom Omelets, a tasty but not too complicated meal. A delicious aroma filled the kitchen. Once it was done, he carried a plate of the meal to the guest room. He tapped Zelda gently on the shoulder to wake her up. She gave a yawn and slowly to sit up. Her half-open eyes wandered to the meal that Link was offering her, and her face lit up. She carefully took the plate out of his hands, but not without giving him a grateful smile first. Daintily Zelda cut a piece with her fork and ate it. "This is really good, Link!" She said. Zelda quickly ate the rest, and thanked Link afterward. He then gave her a smile and left the room to eat his own dinner and give her some privacy. What he didn't know is that she followed him, and just sat and watched him with her emerald-green eyes, hoping that she could finally tell him. The Deku Tree was right, this had to be said to him in person...
