Dream x Sans (AU)

Dream dropped down from the human world onto a bed of petals. He didn't know where he was, he looked into the dark cave around him. Suddenly, a skeleton approached him. "Hey kid, you lost?" asked the skeleton. Dream was immediately infatuated with him. He shook his head as the skeleton held out a hand.

"My name's Sans, Sans the skeleton. Let me show you around," said the short skeleton. Dream wrapped his human hand around the bony one. It was an oddly comforting feeling. Sans pulled him up and Dream almost bumped into him in the process.

Sans led Dream through the dark caves, holding his hand through all the traps and monsters. They met Undyne, Alphys, Papyrus, and all the rest of Sans' friends along the way. In the end, they walked back to Sans' house.

"And this is where I live," gestured Sans with his skeleton hands. "Pretty cool, right?""Yeah," said Dream. They walked inside together.--------------------After staying the night in Sans' house, Dream said "Well, thank you to your hospitality, but I should really be getting back home now. Do you know how I could do that? Sans, despite being bones, visibly paled. "You should probably just forget about that, bud. The only way out is to get 7 human souls, meaning you'd have to kill other humans that fall down here.""If it means getting back to my friends, I'll do what I have to." Dream said grimly. "You can make new friends here in the underground! You dont have to blacken your soul for this!" Sans said--------------------"But I miss my friends! George, Sapnap, even Tommy!" Dream yelled. "You showed me a lot, but I must complete this task, even if I die trying." San sighed and said, "If it's for you, I will help you with your killings, but I must warn you, I don't think you will be the same person you were in the beginning.""I will do what it takes" Dream replied. "OK, let's do it." Sans said. After a week of kids falling, it came down to the last kid. A kid named Chara. She was able to pass everyone and kill all the other monsters. Until it was only Sans and Dream.Dream as about to take the final strike, until Chara juked him and was about to stab him. That was until Sans came and blocked Dream and ended up getting stabbed. "NOOOOOOOOO!" Dream yelled, killing Chara and getting the final soul. "Sans please! Stay with me!" Dream said running to Sans. "I will always be with you kid." Sans said, running out of life. "I love you Sans!" Dream said sobbing. "I love you too!" Sans replied, then dying. Dream was able to escape and go home. George saw Dream sad and smiled at him. Dream smiled back and he forgot about the adventure he had.
