"Uh, Bela?" A voice asked, snapping Bela out of her trance. "Oh, what uncle Sal?" She asked back. "The movie's over, can you help me get the tape out of the tv?" This was something that always happened while they were at the castle. Moreau knew the intricate ins and outs of his own tv but not the slightly newer one the Dimitrescus had. "Of course." Bela smiled, getting up from the couch and crouching down in front of the tv, carefully extracting the vhs tape that was inside the tv and handing it to Moreau.

"Oh thank you, Bela!" The man exclaimed, giving Bela a hug. "Anytime, uncle Sal." Bela said with a laugh. "Oh! I have a game of chess with uncle Karl, I'll see you later, uncle Sal!" She said, getting up and leaving the room with haste.

Bela looked around the halls, eventually finding Daniela talking with Karl Heisenberg. "Ah, there you are, Bela." The man said, setting down a cup of what was probably whisky on the table. "I was watching a movie with uncle Sal, sorry I'm late." She said, sitting down opposite the man. "It's alright, Daniela kept me company. She told me about this book she was reading." He said. "The one about the vampires?" Bela asked, leaning back in her chair. "Exactly." Heisenberg laughed, getting up and grabbing a box from a cabinet. Once he set the box down on the table and opened it he grabbed two pawns, one white, one black, and closed his hands around them, holding the folded fists out to Bela.

This was how they chose who'd play which color. Normally whoever got white would win and this was because white got the first move. Eventually after a bit Bela picked the left hand, revealing a white pawn. "Ooh? Looks like I'm going to have to work a bit harder this game, huh Bela?" Heisenberg said, starting to set up the board. "Yes, you will, if I don't wipe you out in 14 moves, at least." She said, holding back laughter. "Oh, you're confident today, aren't you?" Heisenberg responded, finishing setting up his side of the board. "I guess I am."

The man cracked his knuckles. "Alright, let's start." Bela nodded and sat there for a second, before making the first move. After that came Heisenberg's move and so on and so forth until Bela finally declared "that's mate."

Bela sat back in her chair and sighed in relief. "You're getting better at chess, Bela. Soon you'll be too good to play with me." Heisenberg said, grabbing the glass full of whisky that was sat on the table. "I'll never be too good to play with you, uncle Karl. I just got lucky this time, that's all." The blonde reassured, sitting back up straight. "Do you want to go again?" She asked. Chess always cleared her mind. It seemed like what she needed right now. She hadn't thought about (Y/n) for almost twenty minutes now! That's pretty much a record!

"Ah, Donna probably wants to see you. Go hang out with her, I'll go pester your mom or something." The man said, gesturing for Bela to get up out of her seat. "Alright, I'll see you later, uncle Karl." Bela gave him a quick hug then left the room going to find her aunt and that creepy, creepy doll.

"Bela.....Belaaaaa, where are you?" A voice called out, and Bela groaned in annoyance. There they were. "Just come out, Angie." She said, massaging her nose. "You caught us! Oh no!" The doll appeared in front of Bela's face, just as messy and annoying as usual. "Donna, aren't you ever going to make this doll a new dress?" Bela asked the woman with the black veil. "Well maybe Donna doesn't want to make me a new one! You ever think about that?" Angie crossed her arms, now being held by Donna. "Fair, fair."

"Okay- Well Uhm, I'm gonna go find my mother." Bela pointed behind her, quickly making her way out. Angie wasn't exactly someone you'd like to have a long philosophical conversation with, you know?

Bela made her way down the halls, not exactly sure where she was going. Maybe to the dungeons? Hmm no too dark. Her room would be too risky since there's people over and she doesn't want (Y/n) to get caught if they come to visit her which they definitely would. "Think, Bela, think." She mumbled to herself, rubbing her temples to try and figure out where she could go. The blonde grumbled. The only safe place she could go away from everyone was her room. At least it had a lock, right? I mean a lock that pretty much everyone who sets foot in the castle has a key to but still, a lock is a lock, right?

Bela quickly made her way over to her room because you know, she's made out of flies and stuff, and closed the door behind her, locking it as quickly as she could. "Oh thank god." She muttered to herself, going to sit on her bed. If she were to be honest she wished (Y/n) would show up, but she knew that would be unsafe for both of them. Lord knows where everyone else was, wandering around the castle. Someone could catch them, and they both didn't want that to happen.

Bela heard a familiar voice at her window and quickly turned her head to look over. "Hey! Belaaaaaa." (Y/n) said, peeking into her room through the window. "Sweet mother Miranda, you scared me, (Y/n)." Although she was relieved to see them, she was on high alert, listening to the halls in case she heard footsteps or something.

"Can I come in?" (Y/n) asked, tapping on the window. Bela sighed, "Sure" and opened up the door for them to come in. The warm summer air had already started turning a bit cold after it hit 1PM, so (Y/n) rushed in as quickly as possible. "So...how's it been for the last Uhm..." (Y/n) checked their wrist for a watch where there wasn't one. "Two hours." Bela interjected, sitting down on her bed. "Right, right. I was definitely going to say that." They seemed embarrassed to have not counted the time correctly, and debated adding a watch onto their human form.

"It's been good, I played chess with my uncle and watched a movie with my other uncle." Bela smiled, fixing her hair a bit. "Hey you know I already like what you look like, right?" (Y/n) asked, sitting cross-legged on the bed next to Bela. "Huh? I mean- what?" Bela flushed, hanging her head down to hide her face. "You don't need to change anything about yourself. Just let loose, you know?" (Y/n) smiled.

"Why are you so cute, damnit?" Bela asked, putting her head in her hands. "Oh-uh-sorry?" (Y/n) twiddled their thumbs, embarrassed. "No, I'm sorry it's ok-I just-" Bela cut herself off, feeling her hand be picked up. "I just thought that it would make you feel better, was I wrong? I'm sorry." (Y/n) held her hand in theirs, their fingers intertwined.

"No, you're ok." Bela tried to calm down, still holding (Y/n)'s hand. "Good, good." (Y/n) got quieter, going to lean on Bela's shoulder. I mean they were a good six inches shorter than her why not take advantage of it?

  "Bela?"

  "Yes?"

   "Can I tell you something?"
