"hey y/n would you like to go shopping with me today" Wendy says over the phone.

I was shocked as I hadn't talked to her much but agreed anyway "sure I guess".

I quickly rose out of bed and run to the bathroom. I brush my hair out leaving it all frizzy. I wanted to do something nice with my hair but then just decided on my usual two pigtails. Since my hair wasn't going as planned, I decided to dress pretty. I put on a lace yellow dress, and my matching color block converse.

I go back to my bathroom to put a little lipgloss on and then grabbed my skateboard

I go back to my bathroom to put a little lipgloss on and then grabbed my skateboard.

Me and Wendy were meeting at the mall of course so since if was three blocks away I could get away with skateboarding there.

I ride down the street at around eight mph, it didn't seem fast if you were running but if you were on a board, it seemed you were flying.

I turn the corner, my y/h/c hair flying behind me. I see Yeah yeah and a little girl walking on the side of the street. I speed up and as I'm going past Yeah yeah I wave, receiving a shocked look from him.

Yeah yeah pov

"You see that!" Alana screams "I want to be just the like her. Oh brother.

"Ok" I try to move her along. "Well if she doesn't show up at the sandlot today we know why" I mutter.

"you know her?" Alana asks me. "Pretty please tell me".

"Yes I do now move" I say dragging her down the street. "Can you invite her over! What's her name"

"If I tell you her name will you stop talking" I plead wanting her to be quiet.

"Yesyesyeyes" she says altogether.

"Fine, her name is y/n Philips. She plays baseball with me-"

"Do you like her?" Alana interrupts. What would a seven year old know about anything!

"What! No!" I lie, feeling color go to my face.

"Sounds like ya do" she sings "I'm telling mom!" She screams running down the street to our house.

"She already knows!" I inform my sister.

"Oh so you do? I love being a dectective" She says laughing evilly.

"Your a dectective alright" I say sarcastically. "Now go inside"

She skips inside purposely slamming the door in my face. I roll my eyes and grab my glove. "Bitch" I mutter before running to the sandlot.

"Hey guys" I sigh.

"Where have you been?" Benny asks me.

"Yeah and where's Y/n?" Timmy asks.

"Yeah where's y/n?" Tommy repeats.

"I didn't do anything to her" I scowl. It's funny how they think when she's not here it's me who did something. "My mom made me walk my sister while she did the new tiles in the bathroom. So that's why"

I suddenly remember y/n on her skateboard. "Oh and y/n I saw her skateboarding somewhere" I tell them.

"Where?" Bertram asks

"If I knew where I'd tell you!" I say annoyed at the questions.

"Awe dang it" Kenny says looking down.

"What" we ask.

"I have to leave early to get my sister from the mall at 1:00!" Kenny says upset.

"Dang that sucks bro" I mutter even though I didn't really care.

Y/n pov

"Y/n over here" Wendy waves. She was wearing a green dress with a white belt and matching headband. She wore white little tennis shoes to match aswell.

"You look so pretty in yellow" she gushes.

"Thank you!" I said not sure how to respond to such a compliment.

"So there's a sale at this little boutique down the mall so I thought we'd stop there first!" Wendy explains.

I nod "take the lead"

I follow her and we stop in front of this open store. The mannequins in the display wore bright designs in primary colors. Exclusive sunglasses in all colors and shades. Some even had little flower embellishments on the sides of them. It was as if you were in a candy store, it was that colorful. It smelled like strawberry perfume.

"What's you favorite color?" Wendy asks.

"Oh it's y/f/c" I answer

"Maybe we can find a skirt or blouse that color." She suggests "because they are on sale after all!"

I nod. I've never had this kind of friend before, the only time I've experienced anything like this was with my mom. My mom always took me to places because she felt bad about me because I couldn't do this with friends. But now I can!

Hours go by and I turn to Kenny picking up his sister or something. He looked pretty fed up so I decided to wave. He looks at me and his eyes widen. He looks at me up and down , before waving and practically dragging his sister away.

"Hopefully be doesn't tell the boys I missed to go to the mall" I mutter to Wendy.

"Who cares" she asks "no one. Now, let's get food".

Yeah yeahs pov

A few hours later we see Kenny running into the Sandlot

"Guys I- y/n ditched mall" was all he manages to get out.

"What" Ham yells.

"Y/n ditched us to go to the mall with Wendy" Kenny says.

"Why?" Squints asks "does she not like us?"

"No she probably never did she was probably sent by her brother!" I tell them. Why was I telling them. I enjoyed being around y/n whether she was sent or not.

"It all makes sense now.." Squints mutters. "yeah yeah you were right!"

My heart drops. Why did I have to even mention it!

"That's traitor!" Ham yells.

Benny just shakes his head and puts his head in his hands. What have I done? She's not a traitor! She just...it's not like she was doing anything bad. She wasn't hanging out with anyone bad was she? Kenny didn't say.

"Aww man she is so busted!" Bertram snarls crossing his arms.

"Wait guys-" Benny tries to stop them but they all walk away mad.

All she did was go to the mall. Was I right? No I can't be, if I was why did I have to mention it.

Stupid me.
