Third Person's POV
Stars light the sky like snow-flakes in the night, yet appear still, like an old photograph. Jungkook smiled, feeling the wind blow his hair into a tousled mane. Were he out there in space, riding the limits of the known universe, they would be a choreographed blizzard. How the stars would move, the galaxies tumble and dart.
But for now, with his arms around the branch of a windswept tree and his head leaning gently on the bark, the starlight kept its familiar pattern. The constellations, who'd witnessed centuries and millennia just the same, watched over this tiny moment.
He heard some rustling beside him and looked at the direction where the sound came from, it was Taehyung. How do they always tend to meet at night everytime? That too alone?
Seeing Taehyung, Jungkook suddenly had the flashbacks to the night, three days ago where Taehyung saved him and since that night today was the first time they saw each other. Taehyung had been busy these days as his father has came back safely from his trip.
"Why do we always cross paths at this certain time?" Jungkook asked and Taehyung just shrugged, sitting beside him.
Oh Right! Jungkook wasn't that bad with Taehyung now, well basically after that night.
"How have you been?" Taehyung asked, looking up at the stars.
Jungkook followed his gaze as well and answered,
"Pretty fine, how about you? Haven't seen you these days"
"Could have been better but yeah have been busy as you know the king is back" Jungkook noticed the venom in Taehyung's words when he said 'the king' but he chose to ignore it.
Well for now.
"How is work going?" Taehyung asked again, trying to make up some small talks.
"Pretty good, actually we are halfway done and we'll be leaving soon" Jungkook mumbled the last part although Taehyung heard it and unknowingly Taehyung felt really bad that the prince would go back to Zemira soon.
He didn't want that, why? He isn't aware as well.
This why was something to which Taehyung didn't had any because for and not only Taehyung but also Jungkook didn't knew or understand.
"That's, that's nice" Taehyung hesitated.
Jungkook looked at Taehyung, noticing Taehyung's audible stutter and hesitation. He felt warm inside like, like.. he doesn't know what it was like but it was just that it made him somewhat sad and happy at the same time.
What was happening?
He didn't know, they didn't know.
Taehyung heard a hiss from Jungkook and looked at him with a frown, the younger was rubbing his toes.
"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked eyeing his slightly red toes.
"Nothing, just got hit by the table today after dinner"
Taehyung sighed softly before asking,
"May I?"
Although this offer startled Jungkook, the younger surprised himself even more when he leaned back on the bark of the tree, allowing Taehyung to take his foot onto his lap. Jungkook didn't know why he would acquiesced so quickly but Taehyung here was offering to rub his toe for him that too when he needed it seemed heaven-sent. But that made Jungkook wonder, if he was being or looking desperate, which he wasn't.
"Wait, maybe I shouldn't let you" Jungkook said, drawing his foot back.
"It's okay, don't think too much about it Bambi" Taehyung said and as that nickname rolled off Taehyung's tongue, it did something to Jungkook.
Jungkook felt the warm hands on his foot, although he was tensed when Taehyung started but soon the younger relaxed and leaned his head back, closing his eyes that made him unaware of the small subtle smile on Taehyung's lip.
"Your girlfriend would be one lucky moment" Jungkook mumbled out.
What? Why would he say that? Jungkook was confused, why did he always lost control of his words while he was with Taehyung.
"I don't have a girlfriend" Taehyung chuckled.
"Boyfriend then?"
"Sadly, no boyfriend either" Taehyung replied, shaking his head.
Jungkook nod his head to himself as Taehyung's warm hands kept kneading his toes gently and right now the one thing Jungkook could tell was that he enjoyed what Taehyung was doing.
Or it was only Taehyung's touch?
Who knows?
Taehyung's hand skillfully pressed his thumbs gently on certain points that got Jungkook more and more relaxed, Jungkook tried reading Taehyung's face and he didn't seemed neither bored nor too engrossed in what he was doing though a slight smile graced his lips.
That made Jungkook smile as well subtly, which he himself wasn't aware of.
"What about you?" Taehyung asked, noticing Jungkook's gaze on him.
"Huh?" Jungkook snapped out at the sudden question.
"What about you? Do you have a lover?" Taehyung asked again.
"Nope" Jungkook answered without hesitation.
They were both trusting each other too easily, was it okay to do so? Isn't it too soon?
Was it really okay to trust this soon?
