Chapter 3!!

**********

I lay in the thick darkness, my eyes wide open starring at the white ceiling that rested steadily above my head. All I could think about was my "church date" with Sam tomorrow. Numerous questions and thoughts swarmed my mind like a mob of angry bees. I tried to shake them out, take a deep breath and let myself slowly drift into a deep sleep, but nothing worked.

Finally, I had had enough of the torturous bees and I jumped out of bed, ran down the stairs and out the door without a single creak from the floor. As soon as I got outside, my feet led me to a deep portion of forest just outside of our small town and I immediately felt calm -just like how I felt around Ethan-.

My wolf and I relaxed and took in the deep scent of ferns and trees that reached as high as the clouds in the sky. I sat down on a fallen log and all of the thoughts in my mind slowly melted away. Tears rapidly escaped my crystal eyes and I could feel as they raced down every inch of my cheeks . I felt the urge to run, probably away from all the things in my life that had caused me great pain and confusion.

I jumped off of the log, took off my clothes and felt as the hazel fur spiked out of my skin and my bones rotated and re-positioned themselves. My eyes -I knew- where taking on their black form and I felt my fangs grow larger.

It sounds extremely painful, but after the first couple of times, It's natural and almost non-existent as far as pain goes. Before I knew it, my vision was amped up and my eyes wandered to every wiggling worm nestling itself into the damp, post-rain soil and every leaf that was softly gliding through the air, awaiting the soft touch of the ground.

My nose picked up the slight sent of smoke from a campfire, the smell of meat from the local deli and a hint of lavender, along with all the fresh scents of the forest that caressed my nose with their sweet scent.

Then, I ran as fast as the wind could carry me. The earth seemed non-existent beneath my furry paws and I felt as the wind swirled around and into my body and rustled every one of the soft, hazel hairs covering my now wolf figure. I avoided fallen trees and rocks that had the possibility of tripping me and sending me plummeting into the dark ocean of dirt and, after my many late night runs, I have learned what parts of the forest to avoid because of the creatures that lay nestled deep inside their burrows, waiting to attack.

My body instinctively ran towards a sort of meadow located near the center of the thin strip of dense forest. As soon as the tall grass touched my arms and legs, my wolf disappeared, revealing my human form which stood naked in the moonlight.

I continued to walk into the middle of the small field until I reached a large willow that rested there. I pushed apart the dangling branches until I reached the trunk where I continued to play down and left the soft grass engulf my body. I let my eyes focus of the shallow streams of light that allowed themselves to flicker through the cracks between the branches that swayed lightly with the breeze.

"Never thought I'd see you naked on our first encounter." I jumped at the noise and sat up to see Ethan standing in the collection of swaying branches. My heart raced at the sound of his voice and the sight of his beautiful feature, but I quickly snapped out of my dream and ran behind the trunk of the gigantic tree.

"Nice to see you too, Charlie."

"Don't call me that." I whispered sharply while peering around the trunk to look at his infamous smirk, "What are you even doing here?"

"Why can't I call you that?"

"Reason's." I answered, searching around me to find something to cover up with. While I did so, Ethan took a seat on the ground, near where I was laying before he wandered in.
