The rest of the days flew by rather quickly, Adrien had to let me sign a fake marriage certificate and Phoenix was going to be enrolled at a private school in the town we were going to move into. Speaking of which, we managed to move in and had everything arranged.

It was a little hard to adjust to the new environment. There were a lot of changes like how I'm not cooking for myself anymore, how I don't live alone anymore, and the fact that I have to lock the bathroom door in case Adrien accidentally walks in—which happened a few times to both of us but thankfully we didn't see much.

Speaking of Adrien, he's usually out most of the time to work and he comes home at night. He's a CEO so he always has to look sharp and he's always busy. But despite that, Adrien tries his best to be a good father as well as a good husband. He's very caring, kind, witty, and funny if he wants to be.

Sweet little Phoenix, our darling baby girl, goes to school at one of the most prestigious academies in the town: Foster's Academy for the Elite.

I had my doubts about enrolling her there but Adrien managed to convince me not to bother about it. It was one of the top schools in the vicinity and it was only right to have Phoenix be there—that child deserves the best.

But for some reason, there was an aura I didn't like about the place. It reeked of dirt despite being clean.

I kept it to myself, I had no business nosing around it. I was just a fake wife after all. But I can't help but notice the way Adrien looked when we were on the campus, he knew there was something wrong there as well.

"Mommy!" Phoenix ran to me, still in her school uniform.

"Hello, sweetie!" I opened my arms to hug her. "How was school?"

"School was fun but—" She was about to ramble but she stopped mid-sentence.

"But what?" I leaned my head to the side as I asked since she fell silent all of a sudden.

"Nothing." Phoenix shook her head. "I just wish you were there."

I laughed.

"Well, I'm sorry I couldn't be there. I had chores to do."

It was true, I've been cleaning this house every single day. It's not that I can't have a job, Adrien said I could. But with him being CEO, I just thought not to take one anymore. Big mistake, I was bored. I hope they have an assignment for me soon.

As if on cue there was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" Phoenix said cheerfully and ran to open the door. Adrien stood outside and he was soon engulfed in a hug. "Daddy!"

They both giggled at each other and Adrien carried her in his arms.

"You're home early." I walked over to take his coat to hang it on the rack.
