THIRD PERSON POV:

Jaemin stood in shock as aeri darted out of the room. however, his instincts quickly kicked in and he was after her within seconds. he was about to make it out the front door when someone pulled him back from the hood on his sweatshirt. he turned around to see taeyong standing there.

"just let her go for right now, she just needs a little time to cope,"

"but what about the hit, someone could find her and then what?" jaemin couldn't understand why they shouldn't go after her.

"she was wearing your mission jacket, and there's a tracker in everyone's jacket, isn't there? if she goes anywhere risky, we'll find her and from what you've told me about her she doesn't seem dumb enough to do something like that. does she?"

"no," jaemin sighed. taeyong was right, she just needed space, no matter how much he didn't want to give it to her.

"good, now i've got to make a few calls to get all this mess cleaned up. go in the van with renjun and we'll leave in twenty." taeyong instructed. jaemin complied and walked across the road, getting into the back of the van.

"why didn't you come with me?" he asked renjun.

"because i'm not stupid and part of our rules were to stay in the car too,"

"since when do you follow taeyongs rules?"

"since the last time I broke them and got banned from missions for a week," renjun replied bitterly.

they bickered back and forth for a few more minutes before taeyong and jaehyun came back to the car.

"when we get back to the house, you two don't tell anyone about this," jaehyun said, turning back to face them.

"why not? I mean we won't, but why can't we?" renjun asked.

"it's just better if we keep all this quiet until we can get your friend back," taeyong replied bluntly. everyone in the car could tell he was deep in thought on what to do next. the rest of the car ride was silent.

when they returned to the house jaemin and renjun both went up to renjuns room.

"how bad was it?" renjun asked once the door was closed.

"how bad was what?"

"how bad were her parents and sister, kun hyung told me they were ya know," renjun asked, sticking his tongue out and pretending to be dead.

"oh, um I didn't see much, but from what I did see it was pretty bad. nini was dead on her bed," jaemin shuttered.

"do you think she still has her phone? we could call her?" renjun suggested.

"no, taeyong hyung has it because kun has to do a 'background check' or something like that"

they both sighed, out of ideas.

"i'm just going to go bed, we have a math test tomorrow anyways," jaemin sighed, making his way down the hallway to his room.

jaemin flopped onto his bed, trying to let sleep overtake him. sadly for him, the only thing on his mind was aeri. was she okay? was she safe? after an hour of restless tossing and turning, he sat up, forming a plan.

once his plan was settled, he left his room, heading to kun's office. he walked down to the basement, where all of the individual offices were, and stopped outside the door of Kun's office.

as he reached up to knock the door opened to a happy kun.

he instantly smiled when he saw jaemin standing there, "so you're finally coming around! I knew you would want to work with the tech! I bet you'll be great at it too!" he quickly grabbed jaemins hand and pulled him into the office.
