Later that after the walk the couple went home and got into the bed. There was a loud pounding coming from the basement, it pounded 4 times. Hank got up, the baby staring crying. Hank gave Melody a bottle. Hank walked down stairs slowly, holding a 22 pistol tightly in his palm. He went to the door of the basement opened it slowly, pointing the gun straight in front of him. Something ran passed him so fast knocking him down. He was scared. Next thing he heard was Jane and Melody screaming, he got back to his feet, and run back up stairs. He turned on the light, Jane was gone. He grabbed Melody and ran out of the house. He put Melody in the car and drove really fast. But one thing Hank didn't notice was he left the door wide open, so whatever that thing was had an advantage of getting out. Hank drove supper fast. About an hour later or so Hank arrived at his moms house. He rang the door bell. After a few seconds his mom came out. He handed her Melody and said "Please take care of Melody for a few. I love you." His mom nodded in reply. She closed the door behind her. Then Hank drove off, back to the house. He walked right through and found Jane on the couch. She wasn't breathing. He rushed her to the hospital about two hours later he arrived. But it was too late. She had died. Hank was devastated and confused. He drove back to his moms and stayed the night there.
