Ok, so this was going to be out yesterday because I finished it during free period, but I kind of fell asleep at 4:30 yesterday when I came home and didn't wake up until 7 this moring. So, yeah...fail. Sorry. Here is the next chapter, and I will be getting faster at uploading now that my writer's block is momentarily killed.

Adrina's POV
God. Why does he have to be so annoying?
Coming randomly off the street, asking to help me. As if. I don't need any help. I am perfectly capable of doing things on my own, thank you very much. Then infiltrating my home. I narrowed my eyes at the thought of the way he just came right in, all cool and collected, and easily winning the favor of my mother.
He sat in front of me at the dinner table, animatedly talking to my mom about God knows what, while I sat glowering at my plate. It was my favorite lemon chicken, reheated from the night before. I could not even enjoy it, I was so aggravated by his presence. Stupid boy, not taking no for an answer.
To be perfectly honest with you, I am not quite sure why I was being so pissy about him. It wasn't like he had done anything wrong. Actually, he had only been trying to help me. And I guess that is what really got to me. I don't like being helped.
Also, I guess my period might have been coming on.
But my whole life, I have hated to be helped. People think I'm too small to do anything, too tiny and weak, too defenseless. I'm stronger than that. I'm better than that. I always do things my own way, and I hate to ask for help, because to me that's admitting that I was wrong, admitting that I am what my first impression says I am. But I don't want to be dependent on anyone or anything. I want to be independent.
He helped me when I didn't want help. I felt that he had made me dependent. And I hated that, so I decided to hate him too.
I looked up and saw my mom smile at Aden, then viciously stabbed my fork into a piece of pasta and shoved it into my mouth, still scowling.
Aden turned and gave me a look like I was being weird or something, the same look he gave me when I found my key in my pocket. Well, excuse me if I'm happy I actually remembered to bring it with me for once. Stupid people. I went back to viciously eating my food.
"Adrina, you're being awfully rude to our guest." My mom said to me from across the table.
"Well, I don't want him to be here." I grumbled.
"Adrina! How could you say such a thing while he's sitting right here," my eyes shifted to Aden and I noticed with delight that he was now shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "Do you want to be sent ot your room?"
"I'm not a child mom, I don't get sent to my room."
"I can do whatever I want, you are my daughter." I just rolled my eyes at her.
"I'm so sorry my daughter is being so unpleasant, she's usually much sweeter than this. I don't know what has gotten into her," my mom turned to Aden to say.
"It's alright," he said, and then they continued off on their little conversation.
I finished my food in silence, completely ignoring the other two and successfully blocking out their conversation. As soon as my plate was cleared, I pushed my chair back from the table, earning a disapproving look from my mother, carried my plate into the kitchen, and then retreated to my room. I changed into lazy wear, red sweat pants and a black tank top, then pulled back the blue curtain in my room.
