Comatose

Prologue: Crash

May 24th, 2014

  Sirens. Red and blue flashing lights. This wasn't supposed to happen. This shouldn't happen. He was protecting people, couldn't they see that?

  "Scott Lane, you are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent." The police officer spoke as Scott was handcuffed.

  "But they all deserved to die! They were all rapists! I'm doing a service to this world! Lester O'Neal raped my wife! What I did was righteous!" He exclaimed. He truly did believe he was protecting everyone. Scott's wife raced down the stairs to where the police were as her children eavesdropped from the top of the stairs.

  "What's going on?" The wife demanded as Scott was dragged outside and into a police car.

  "Your husband has been arrested for murder."

  "That's absurd! He would never kill anyone!" She argued.

  "Ma'am, if he is actually innocent, it will be proven in court." And with that, the police left.

  The oldest of the two children headed back to bed, while the other stayed there, thinking. Was it really murder if he was getting rid of the bad people? Wasn't he doing the right thing?

December 19th, 2003

  Cram school was over for the night, Light Yagami walked out of the building and started to make his way home. "Light, you got a moment?" Ryuk, the Shinigami asked. Ryuk was hovering behind Light. Of course, no-one else but the 17 year old could see him.

  "I told you, don't talk to me outside of my room. People can't hear you, but they can hear me." Light replied, annoyed. It was getting late and he wanted to hurry home to write down names. Crime doesn't sleep.

  "Yeah, I know. But I want to tell you this right now. I don't have anything against you, Light. In a way, I think you're the best person who could've picked up my notebook. But, I'm neither on your side nor L's side in this." The Shinigami stated.

  "I knew that Ryuk." If he was just going to tell him things he already knew, he didn't want to hear it.

  Ryuk ignored Light's comment and continued, "So I'm not going to tell you that what you're doing is right or wrong. But I will speak up once in a while as your roommate."

  "What's up, Ryuk? Why're you telling me all this now? It isn't like you."

  "What I mean is, what I'm about to tell you isn't spoken as Kira's ally. It's just because it's annoying me personally." Ryuk looked behind

  "Just get to the point, will you?" He replied, assuming Ryuk wanted him to buy more apples. Which he couldn't do at the moment.

  "I'm always hovering behind you, so I noticed it right away and. it's really getting on my nerves."

  "And?" Light urged him on, visibly annoyed.

  "These last couple of days, this guy's been following every step you take." Ryuk, the Shinigami explained as Light stopped in his tracks in the middle of the street, not noticing the car coming his way. "He doesn't see me of course, but I feel like I'm being- WOAH!" Ryuk noticed it.

  "What is-" Light started as he turned his head to see what the hell the apple addict was looking at but his eyes widened once he saw the car right in front of him. All he could hear was Ryuk's laughter as everything went black.

Pure luck, he got in a coma. Brought her everything she ever wanted. But then he was taken away from her, she had to follow him back and she did. She watched it hit. But was it all worth it?
