Currently, right now I'm in Dalton's room. We are watching Dalton's favorite movie. It's about a detective who's trying to solve a murder case, starring Actor Alex Cori. We're both on the floor in front of the tv. Chanda and Davis, Dalton's parents, are downstairs doing whatever. I was thirsty so I decided to head downstairs for a soda. Walking downstairs I hear a knock on the front door. "I'll get it!" I say as I head to the front door."Thank you, Sweetheart!" Chanda responds. I open up the door and I see a woman standing there. Medium length Black hair, Red familiar eyes staring at me.
"Amy!" I hug her.
"Hey, Lil bro." She hugs me back. "Man, I hoping to surprise you." She sighed.
"You did! I didn't know you were coming by today." I spoke.
"Is that Amy?! Come in! It's been so long since I've seen you!" Chanda came over and gave Amy a hug to which she returns. Also led her to the living room which I followed after closing the door. "Dalton! Come down here and greet Amy!" She calls him.
"I love the new setup around the house." Amy looked around the house and saw Davis snoozing on the couch.
"Thank you! I try my best to make this house nice and clean, but Dalton is always leaving something laying around." Chanda complains.
"What? I don't!" Dalton argues as he is coming down the stairs. Chanda looked at him like he was silly and continued to talk to Amy. I sighed and looked at Dalton who was currently having a hard time joining the conversation. I laughed at him; his distressed face was a bit amusing.
"I'm going back upstairs; I'll see you later Amy," I said as I started going up.
"Hey! I'm coming too!" Dalton exclaimed as he followed behind me.
"Alright, I'll go home in a bit. I just want to let you know." Amy told me and I gave her a nod. Finally, I was back inside Dalton's room. I wonder If I can stay over. I don't like my house. I sat down on the bed and laid comfortably as I wait for Dalton to un-pause the TV. Dalton looked at me.
"You can watch the movie without me. I gotta go use the bathroom." He gave me the remote and left. I didn't feel like watching a movie so I decided to play a video game. I slid my way to the cases that held the CDs. Picked my favorite and slid that baby in. I love playing video games. It's probably not good but I like to take my anger out on the characters. It's a real stress reliever, to be honest. That or Anger inducing. Dalton came back shortly.
"Hey, Play with me." I tossed a controller to him and he caught it.
"Ok sure." Dalton smiled as he plopped down beside me. I'm not gonna lie it made my heart flutter a bit. We played for a long time until Chanda called me down. Saying that it was late and I should go home. I did what I was told and headed to my house next door. Walking inside I was surprised to see the house clean. No Cigarette Smell, No alcohol smell. The trash in the living room was missing. Looks like a completely new house. I walked towards my bedroom and heard some shuffling. I peeked inside and saw Amy in my drawer.
"Amy?"Amy! What are you doing?" I asked. She turned to me.
"Hey, Adrien!"
I looked at her bag. "I'm just putting more bandages in your drawer. Speaking about that. Let me see your arms and legs." She spoke. Amy is in college to become a doctor. I started to push my sleeve up and remove my bandages. I let my bandages drop to the floor and I stare at my arm. It was covered with cigarette burns and bruises. Amy looked at my arm with sadness in her eyes. She had me sit down on my bed as she started to treat the burns.
"Ow!" I winced. She told me to be still. My mom doesn't do this every night, but when she does she definitely leaves a mark. "How long are you staying home?" I asked.
"Just for the holiday. You'll be out of school too." She responded.
"Oh yeah! I forgot." I said. I'm so relieved. School is so overwhelming. Having the teachers yelling at me, and that boy punching me in the bathrooms.
"Hey Adrien..I know you don't like talking about it, but I think you should tell the police.." She started. I looked at her. I want to. but I don't. I'm scared too and I don't know why.
"I'm serious, I think you should. I hate seeing you in pain." She looked me directly in the eyes.I couldn't look her in the eye. "I don't think we should. I'm fine. It's not that bad..." I say.
"Adrien! You're covered in bruises and scars! You're really lucky you've never broken a bone!" She wrapped my arm.
"It's okay. She doesn't even do it much.." I clenched my teeth.
"But—"
"NO!— I mean..n-no. I'm fine okay? She doesn't burn me anymore and only ever hits me when she's in a bad mood." I looked at her. She looked at me with worry in her eyes and stayed silent. I feel bad for yelling.
