the hero's side
//
midoriya stretched, clad in tight-green, his thick gloves falling to his side. his green bunny-like hoodie flapped in the wind, breeze carrying heavy humidity. he straightened his back out and bent down, his fingertips flushing with the concrete ground below him. he eyed his shoelaces, internally cringing at the memory of his mess up over shoelaces rolling in.
"cellophane, deku, froppy, and tentacole, prepare for your turn." aizawa said grimly, not looking away from the screens displaying the after-fight of previous students.
"you will be placed in area b. hurry." he demanded. tsuyu and shouji paced side-by-side towards the exit of the spectator's room, midoriya and sero following close behind.
"i've never played the villian before." midoriya pointed out, smile nervous behind his hardened mask.
"yeah!" sero agreed. "and i've noticed that our pairing is kinda rare, too. it's weird, though, 'cause you'd think the villians would have destructive power because of the goal, right?"
"huh," midoriya paused. "perhaps they're trying to encourage and grow their destructive power. i can see how shouji can break some stuff, but not tsuy— tsu!"
"so it's liiike...some strength builder?" sero guessed.
"sounds a lot like it." midoriya replied with a shrug.
by the time they reached ground beta, small raindrops were falling lightly, kissing the student's skin with refreshing water. the air smelled of wet grass and sweet plants, and the dirt underneath them saturated and smiling.
"i bet tsu-chan's thrivin' in this weather." sero grinned, stretching wide. midoriya distantly nodded before pipping up.
"cellophane," he started. "i wanna try this without a plan. i know it sounds dumb, but listen. i've been wanting to test out my instinctive skills, especially if there's a time i can't think straight."
sero nodded, eyes covered in surprise. "i'd never think i'd hear that from ya. you're always very coordinate and specific, deku." the ravenette paused. "y'know, we're probably gonna lose in that case."
midoriya sighed. "yeah, but let's try our best."
sero smirked and held out his fist, smile widening as midoriya collided his with it, knuckled pumping.
"always do your best." sero repeated in a soft breath.
the speakers alerted the students and began the scene, directing the participants to duel. midoriya and sero shot themselves forward, the path busy with buildings. they passed window panes as they glided in between the structures in pursuit of the villians. as midoriya continuously hopped between buildings, he caught a glimpse of green. he halted and notified sero he had caught sight of tsuyu.
CRACK!
glass shattered around them, a blur of green shooting around.
"dammit! she's using her agility to break fragile objects!" sero bellowed, tape flying to the building aside midoriya.
"sero!" midoriya shouted past the rain that had become thicker. "try and see if you can predict her movements! then try to capture her using your tape!"
"sounds like a plan!" sero teased, black eyes carefully eyeing the dash of green. midoriya considered attempting this too— his speed could easily assist in capturing tsuyu! in plus, she must be getting injured by crashing into the glass like that!
midoriya felt one for all course through him as he tensed and activated his quirk. his green eyes followed tsuyu, and for a split second, he could see her hesitate through the glass. he took the chance and leaped forward, his body shooting through the broken pane tsuyu had cracked. tsuyu's eyes widened and she bounded right at midoriya, taking him by surprise. his hesitation allowed her to slip through the previous crack.
midoriya growled in frustration with himself before he darted for her, his speed catching him up to her in no time. they rolled inside the building when midoriya finally grabbed ahold of her.
"deku! i got tentacole!" he heard sero shout past the rain. midoriya grinned widely as he heard the winner's announcement play over the speakers.
tsuyu sighed, "good job, deku."
"you did well, too, froppy!" midoriya replied, standing tall and holding his hand out for tsuyu to take.
"h...hello?"
tsuyu and midoriya startled and bounded back, eyes alert and scanning the building.
"who's there!?" midoriya screeched, his quirk coursing through his veins in a flash.
"we need to contact aizawa! this may be another attack!" tsuyu gushed, her eyes darting around for any surveillance cameras.
"no..." the weak voice croaked. "i-i'm not here to hurt you. b-bo— m-my friend and i were— were teleported here...he's hurt, and— and i don't know where we are..."
midoriya's gaze softened, only to harder after analyzing the scene. yes, it could've been someone's quirk going out of control, and that's how they got there, but what are the chances of that? it sounds much more like a pitiful scheme the league of villians would create.
"then show yourselves." midoriya stated, his arms raising for any impact. heavy footsteps echoed in the stone building, and nervousness swelled up in midoriya's chest. the footsteps were accompanied with a dragging sound, stones and pebbled rolling under the mass. his heartbeat pounded in his ears as the sound drew closer and closer.
CRASH!
the sound of glass shattering resonated in their ears, the sudden sound loud and painful. a sob from the hall was heard, fear trickling in the tone. midoriya's eyes were met with crimson ones and the familiar sight of floating hair.
"sensei!" the two students shouted, ease flowing into their bodies. aizawa glared at the shadows of the hall that covered the invaders in a black veil. his scarf shot forward and grasped the intruders firmly, until he hurled them forward. the air thickened and quieted as the mass hit the ground, curled up in a ball.
"b-bokuto-san," a voice whimpered, the scarf shifting as the boy moved his arms around the other one.
midoriya's eyes widened.
there was a boy, his age, black hair and sporting a disarranged school uniform. his eyes were dark in the lighting, but as he moved, the sun lit his eyes, revealing a beautiful teal. they were filled with hot tears and his eyes were lined with red, terror pooling in his pupils. the other boy wore the same uniform, only more displaced, with silver-blond hair and black streaks coloring his roots. his eyes were closed and his expression was pained. his leg looked horrible, blood had saturated the grey cloth, and the bone had snapped, indenting an angle into his shin.
who in the world were they?
