Large sums of DarkForest cats cheered loudly as the presentation of the fighters began. The other Clanmates waited, solemn looks on their muzzles.
She crowd went silent as Scourge approached the center stage. "Welcome!" He purred loudly, pausing to hear the cats' yowls of delight. "Tonight, we will be bringing out our.." He searched for the right word, his smile turning sinister as he chose it. "Noble warriors." He chuckled darkly, "And Apprentices and kits, of course."

Several hisses came from the crowd as the clan cats showed their obvious disapproval. Scourge ignored them and padded to the far left side of the stage. "Up first we have..Rabbitstrike!"

The rather skinny, but well built sandy colored tom made his way on to the stage, his tail was fluffed up and shells decorated his pelt, strung together by reed stalks. Scourge glanced at him and gave a nod of approval. "Is there anything you would like to say to your..fans?" He meowed. Rabbitstrike hesitantly nodded a 'yes'. "I just wanted to tell my mate that I love her, and I promise I will until I take my last breath." He murmured, scanning the crowd for his beloved. Scourge pushed him aside before and could and moved on to the next cat.

"Dapplepaw."

The multicolored tom was shoved out into the spotlight, his fur laced with cobwebs to make it shimmer in the bright glare. He blinked with wide eyes at the crowd, shaking.

Scourge continued. "Is there anything you want to say? Last chance." Dapplepaw opened his jaws to say something, but not a sound came out. "Guess not. Next!" Scourge meowed quickly.

"Fernpaw!"

The dark brown medicine cat apprentice walked silently forward, markings stained onto his fur in the shapes of circles and stripes from the juices of different berries. "Any words you need to share?" Fernpaw looked across the crowed clearing, his green eyes ablaze. "Just one thing." He spoke calmly, facing his captor. Scourge gave him a nod to continue.

"This game is a useless waste of cats that only shows just how mouse-brained the DarkForest cats really are." He hissed, taking a step forward as gasps rung out from the audience. Scourge instantly signaled to one of the other Dark Forest cats near him, a sturdy black and white tom named 'Jack'.

The tom, in one swift motion, jumped forward and onto Fernpaw's back, easily pinning the much smaller tom to the ground. The crowd all gasped in horror as Scourge padded over and sunk his claws deeply into Fernpaw's shoulders, drawing blood.

Scourge sighed in annoyance and waved his tail once more. "Alright, alright, that's enough. We don't want to kill him, Jack." He paused, gazing coldly into the apprentice's wide eyes. "Well, not yet." He purred, and Jack stepped away from Fernpaw, who was now shaking, but still gave Scourge a determined look before proudly joining the other contestants.

SkyClan's members let out a few cheers for the tom's determination, but were soon hushed by Scourge. "Due to this," he glanced over at Fernpaw, "sudden change of events, I don't think it would a wise choice to allow the other contestants a chance to rebel against me as well." He let out a long, fake sigh. "It really is a shame, I do enjoy this part quite a lot."

The remaining cats were hurriedly grouped with the cats that had already been presented, and all of them were led to each's respective areas.

Scourge watched as they were led away before turning back to the crowd. "I do implore you to stay tuned, because tomorrow morning," He licked the remaining blood from his claws. "The Hunger Games begin." He purred, then silently walked off stage.
